Guest guest
Alyssa.. I understand the fear of you feeling your body will be dependent on it, makes complete sense. That was my concern for a while too.. IMO you gotta look at things differently. There are many facets to achieving health. If taking LDN resonates, go for it. Fear is a good tool to teach you things but acting from a place of fear and not grabbing tools to help is a problem. I got off of LDN and I was totally ok. It does not work like a conventional medication. My health did not backtrack as a result. I think this is the limited scope as how we has humans have defined what medicine is supposed to mean. LDN changes all of these definitions since it works on a completely new level and totally induces Hering's Law of Cure. Pretty amazing stuff!! Guest guest
I know a lot of people use LDN on this list. I have joined the LDN group also. I watch the posts. I read when it relates to Crohns/Colitis. I read the questions, have been doing this for awhile--several months. I still haven't made a decision regarding it. It's just me. I want to know all there is to know before I get it. No doctor locally will prescribe it. I think it's better to watch and get as much feedback when it comes to something you are totally unfamiliar with. I won't even post how long it took to try SCD--that's because it was an investment and included watching Foodnetwork, learning to make yogurt, how to cook much more than fried chicken (at the time). It seemed way too overwhelming. Then someone told me how much he relied on it for several years and I decided to try it. So, maybe wait until you are totally convinced it could help you. Any doubts and you may be throwing away money. There are so many 'cures' and bogus claims (that may work for some like Archways macaroons or the marshmallow fluff or the cottonball in one ear...) so see if it hits you down the road before trying it. See if anyone goes crazy from it on the list either trying it or getting off it (kidding). It's always good to sit back and wait if you are unsure, especially at your age. Also, it's hard to get your ass moving on finding a doctor if you think youare going to need to search for one in your area. It took me a really long time to ask my doctor whether he would prescribe it or not - because I assumed, based on his reaction to things like Genova Diagnosticstest, that he wouldn't. I was utterly surprised and happy when he did - he hadalready prescribed it for two others, but it did not work for them. I'm assumingbecause they weren't on the SCD or some version of restrictive diet thereof. Or maybe they got yeast which interfered with the LDN, who knows exactly. So, maybe wait until you are totally convinced it could help you. Any doubts and you may be throwing away money. It's pretty inexpensive, though, especially when you think of things like remicade - whichis thousands and thousands of dollars per infusion. I was getting double infusionsfor a while - which btw, did nothing for me except for the first time, for 3 weeks, and it was like $4000 bucks or more - can't remember anymore, but it was agobsmacking amount.. Fortunately, the insurance was paying. LDN, in comparison, is $20.00 a month. Because it is not on copyright. The SCD was actually a bigger initial investment because there was the book- which I got used on amazon and a yogurt maker and changing the contentsof your entire kitchen, etc. Mara
