OK, Everyone...

I know I'm missing people, so fwd if you see someone I missed, & know

its cuz I'm sooo tired.. but can't sleep. =(

I'm home, didn't get the great pain meds everyone talks about(lortab

elixor 30cc q. 4 hrs & scheduled toredol q 6 while inpatient, now

tylenol #3 elixor 10cc q4hrs outpatient. It is official.. I am a huge

WIMP). It got really bad going through one stretch of louisiana- bump

BUMP, bump BUMP, bumpBUMP... for 3 hours, but I survived.. and I'm gonna

have Dr Kim's ears for breakfast, dammit. My poor hubby was beside

himself.. kept apologizing. I told him it wasn't his fault, & I just

wanted to go home, so keep going. Nothing is staying in.. it goes right

through after about 10 minutes. I think I need some acidophilus &

yogurt. But hey, I survived the worst, so its gonna get better. My

absolute worst " What-in-gods-name-have-I-DONE- to-myself???? " moment was

in postop.. I woke up having my very first asthma attack- the recovery

RNs kept yelling at me that I had to breathe deeper & cough, & I

couldn't.. I kept saying, " I need my inhaler!! I need my combivent!!!

I CAN'T breathe deeper!!! " I heard someone say, " WHAT inhaler?? There's

no record of her having an inhaler??? " lol.. I just kept begging for

it, & once I got a breathing treatment I was OK. Scared me bad, tho- my

O2 sats wouldn't come out of the 60s-70s. Guess who carried her inhaler

EVERYWHERE after that, lol? I sure hope I never have another attack

like that, tho.

Anyway, we pulled into our drive, & my dear DARLING priceless much

adored hubby said, " go on in & do what you need to do to get comfy, &

I'll unload the car. " I crawled upstairs, took a shower & washed my

hair, & cleaned & dressed all my incisions & tape burns. I feel better,

but can't sleep, so here I am, reading my email.. Got a question for

postops- did your lower back ache worse than your incisions? Mine

does.. I'm plastered with tiger balm patches & it just aches. Anyway, I

know I'll feel better tomorrow- I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Hugs,

Liane

Sinai...drug free is NOT the choice for me!!! (scared grin) ;)

Congratulations on reaching the other side and hang in there!

Liane,

Welcome Home! And yes,,, it will get better. My lower back was really hurting

right after surgery too. I had my dh rub it to help me feel better. I think

it was a little over a week out when I started to feel better. Walking like a

hunchback doesn't help, so when that went away I was fine! The more you can

get up and move around the better!

Liane,

I'm glad you survived the journey home!! *hugs* I don't think I'd

want to drive back to Colorado :) As for the back pain, I think

n is experiencing the same thing. According to Terri's posts,

n's back pain is worse than her incisional pain. It may be due

to the position you're in for surgery. From what I understand,

sometimes you're put in a weird position, instead of the normal

horizontal we'd think.

Welcome back!!!

Hi Liane,

welcome back!!! I'm to glad to see you made it through the ride home, even if it WAS a bit bumpy!!!

Hopefully you'll be feeling better and better with each passing minute, and that back pain went away, or at least subsided a little.

Well, take care and get some rest, and write and tell us more when you are feeling up to it. :)

I hope I didn't scare you.. just remember that I am a major wuss who

cannot deal with pain.. and I think I'm the exception to the rule on

those good drugs.. plus, I found out today- the doctor who d/c'd me

didn't read my chart too well- he thought T3 was what I'd gotten while

inpatient! I'm playing phone tag now trying to get thisfixed, cuz I

need to walk, but it hurts too much just yet.. Remember, I'm a wimp,

hun.. I don't want anyone else to have to deal with my poor pain

tolerance!

Hugs,

Liane
