Guest guest
Becky, I work for a group of surgeons and we do alot of breast surgery. I know from the lives we treat daily the fear of breast cancer and also, like you, had a personal scare. I had a mass on my chest wall also. Went through the scare with my ob/gyn saying that we have to take this 'very seriously". I went in the parking lot and cried. I know better, but it still is scary when it's YOU!! Anyway, went for surgical evaluation with one of my own docs. The best breast surgeon around. He said he thought it was sarc. Of course he had to look it up first, right in front of me. Know he's real smart, but still did'nt know much about sarc. Anyway, he suggested we wait six months, take new mammo/ultrasound. I went with his advice over my primary and ob docs. It turned out it was sarc and it wasn't until later that I found out that youcan get sarc in your breast. The whole experience made me better at my job and more understanding of the patient coming to us in fear. Bonnie B
