Guest guest
Hey everyone, trying to do some catching up, I am so behind, I hope you got some relief and are feeling better. We just got back last night from a family vacation in Mexico, and I feel awful, guess it’s the price one has to pay, I always say I have to pay when I play, but man this has been a rough day. About a week ago I decided to check out a local chiropractor for some of the pain I continue to have, mostly leg and hip and she took x-rays, and man they don’t look good, she said I have multiple spurs on the vertebrae’s all of them, my cervical axes is way off, so I have been in for a couple of treatments no relief yet, in fact terrible headaches, she says this is normal as many toxins being released into my body, I know many of you have back and hip pain too, do you have bones spurs too?? Is this from the sarcoid or being on pred for many years, I know that can really mess with the bones, I’ve been scanning the internet for answers and can’t find a direct relationship with bone spurs and sarcoid, but arthritis type changes from sarcoid? What do you think? About 10 years ago, I had a discectomy L4-5, and the neurosurgeon said that my bones looked great and that I shouldn’t have anymore problems with them, he said they were healthy and strong, so how can they look so bad now only 10years later, is it the sarcoid or pred. I was on pred off and on for the past 12 years, and 3 years straight, but off for the past 3 years. Oh man back to bed, I am really paying for the vacation, total body pain, worse left side, I feel hot and very cold at the same time, last night when we got back, I started to get sick on the ride home, like getting the flu, which is what I do feel like when I over due, nausea, pain, etc.. Sorry to go on, you are all in my prayers, and I will try to catch up tomorrow if feeling better. Marla
Guest guest
Hi Marla, I thought you had gone missing. They haven't done anything to my back as of yet, I see the neurosurgeon on Monday and I'll know more then, the problem is since the discogram, I know have siatica going down my right leg, I've had leg pain for a long time and I actually thought it was restless leg syndrome, because there are times I can't keep my legs still, but they hurt. This may be the cause of most of my standing, walking problems, I hope it is, and this surgery can repair it. You'll have to send us pictures on your vacation. I know what you mean by paying the price, I so want to do things with Damian, go watch him play basketball, but dang I can't sit on those bleachers in the gym, or go to a friends house for the weekend in Alabama, which I've done once or twice and for a week, I couldn't get enough sleep, and I guess the riding didn't set well with my back problem.. then sleeping in another bed, OMG, its too much. For those of you that we've talked to playing music and singing, I just sang at my best friends renewal vows last weekend.. My voice isn't as strong as it once was but I surprisingly did well..I think that its the truth that if you don't use it you lose it. I plan to start doing vocal exercises and trying to start singing again. That brought me more joy than I can express, in a very long time. Get to feeling better Marla, take care and rest up.. and next time maybe you can plan a vacation closer to home. I've wondered the same thing about the sarcoid and my spine, or if it is just years of nursing, bad body mechanic's etc, and I'm sure the steroids haven't helped.. I've got the multiple bone spurs as well.. and my sarcoid is supposedly involving the spinal cord.. I don't know if this is true or if I was misdiagnosised.. I do know I had room spining dizziness, horrible tremors, total body at one time. I have myoclonic total body jerks now when I get dehydrated or my kidney functions start to deterioate. Oh well, long message, feel weller my friend. Hugs, -- bone spurs? Hey everyone, trying to do some catching up, I am so behind, I hope you got some relief and are feeling better. Guest guest
Marla, I have the bone spurs the full length of my spine also. My hips and knees and ankles (along with the bones of my hands and fingers) are all knarly. I posted a picture of bone spurs just a couple of weeks back. I'll try to find it again. Get the MSM powder, it is all that is helping my pain from them. The Remicade did make a huge difference, and at least I can handle going to my Pulm Rehab maintainence exercise group now. Here is a site that shows what they look like. I need not explain what it feels like. http://www.mayoclinic.com/popupnowrap.cfm?objectid=4F436679-2A5D-9994-E208D1E5A0719C6A & method=display_full Now, the other thing you have to do is get the fluids in your system. You probably are dehydrated from travelling. This is normal-- but for us- hell. so drink up and get those fluids and toxins out of your body. Your DC is correct, as she moves the vertebrae and adjusts you-- the toxins in your synovial fluid is trying to readjust itself-- and hydration is the key to getting it out of your body. also, do the Milk Thistle capsules-- that will help your liver detox all this crud. These are simple fixes, and will seriously help you out of this quicker than all the other prescription drugs that the MD's will give you. Neither the MSM powder or the Milk Thistle will have any interaction with anything else you're on- so no worries there. I'm glad that vacation was good-- and I know that it will take a bit to come back to "normal." so be good to yourself, and listen to your body. Good to see you back, Love ya, Tracie
Guest guest
Marla, Sorry to hear that you aren't doing that well. It's twice as worse when you are away trying to have some quality time with the family. That has happened to me a few times. It sucks. I don't know anything about bone spurs. I wouldn't be surprised if its a result from sarcoid and/or a side effect from prednisone. All the pred you were on would bother your bones in the hips too. I hope you get some relief from the pain soon. And take it easy from that vacation. Guest guest
Thanks Debbie, I’ve been going to a Chiropractor for about 4 weeks now, I think it might be helping the pain, but hard to say as cold days I am again in a lot of pain, warm days better. But ever since going to her I am getting headaches, I know part of this is toxins being released, but these are those neuron type burning headaches that first started my trips to the neurologist, and I hadn’t had these type for a very long time, so I wonder if her adjusting is actually irritating what casqued the HA’s in the first place, just so hard to know. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Hope everyone is well, I’m sorry I haven’t been at any chats lately. I’ve also noticed an increase in my memory problem, like I’ve been buying self sticking stamps for years now, in fact do they even make the non sticky kind, anyway I had to put a lot of stamps on some postcards, and I got a wet sponge out and I peeled the sticky stamp off the paper, put it on the sponge then the card, well I was a good half way through when I realized they were already sticky! And I’m having a real spelling issue again too, thank goodness for spell checkJ God Bless to all, Marla From: Neurosarcoidosis [mailto:Neurosarcoidosis ] On Behalf Of Debbie Sent: Saturday, November 04, 2006 2:42 PM To: Neurosarcoidosis Subject: Re: bone spurs?
