Guest guest
Thanks for asking . I am doing better. I had a rough time with pain and being able to take enugh food and water. I guess it all takes time and a huge change. All in all it is doable. I have one incision that is infected and am on antibiotics. I have lost 26 lbs already. How are you doing? Are you hanging in there? I am so trhilled you are still with us. I can't wait to read another of your wonderful posts ala story. Guest guest
I'm doing okay. Still struggling - actually, that's not true. I stopped struggling in July and August and went back to not paying attention to what I was doing. (90% of the time anyway) Too much was going on at work...too much time and energy spent there. That was up until about a week ago actually. I am backing off now...hopefully I can maintain that train of thought, because things are going to get tougher again as one of my workers is going back to school. So his hours will go from 35 a week to 15. I am supposed to get someone else from another section as soon as an upgrade is complete, but that is three months overdue and at least another month away from completion. Aack! But I am working on relaxing a bit while there...and trying to get my boss to see how things are. Trying not to work too much anymore. The last time I took a day off I still worked 42 hours in four days. And I don't get paid for overtime. This week, I kept it at 36. My wife and I took yesterday off and went to Doran Beach at Bodega Bay. Very nice place! It was a bit windy yesterday, but we still had a nice time and enjoyable drive. We have new motivation to lose weight (as if we really needed anymore) My wife found out her mother (already a raging diabetic) had a mild heart attack. Didn't realize it...she just felt bad for a few weeks. Went to see her Doctor and had the test...she had an attack two weeks ago. She goes in for a heart catheter procedure on Monday to find out the extent of the damage. This is the odd thing with a lot of women from what I understand. Unlike men, their heart attacks are mild...so they go unnoticed. Which is still dangerous because left untreated...well you know. SO PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR HEART LADIES! I don't want to lose anyone in here... > > > How are you doing? > > > > > > > > > > > __________________________________ > Yahoo! Guest guest
Hey ... I think that women have higher pain threshholds...and that's why we keep on going evn in the midst of a heart attack. you guys are just wimps. (hee hee). Actually, it's because women do manifest the symptoms differently, more like bad heart burn...and so all of the publicity for the "warning signals" frequently doesn't apply to women. I'm proud of you for setting down a few boundaries. I think that is perhaps the MOST important thing to do for your weightloss. Putting your needs (for a little normalcy and rest and relaxation) up there as a priority is very very necessary. Stress is a killer on many levels...and one of its ways of sneaking in there is by making us eat eat eat, fail to exercise, fail to sleep enough...it's a bad thing. So, I'm glad that you guys are taking things seriously...have fun with it...be creative...challenge each other. Set weekly goals...realistic ones, but real ones...and have some kind of bet. Like whoever meets thier goal gets to have some special sexual favor at the end of the week bestowed upon them...That's how is not smoking. For everyday between the day he stopped smoking, and the day he arrives here...he's getting a little, er...well..."gift". Anyway...you can do it. I hope your mother in law fully recovers... Guest guest
I am glad you guys took some time off to do something peaceful. It is so importanat to our mental health. I hope your mother in law gets stronger and changing her life style will also help you guys. I was one of those that kept getting angina attacks and had several tests. I am glad to say since loosing weight I seldom have any pain. I also hope you get some help at work soon. You need to slow done a bit. (thats the mom in me) Your really special , take care.
