Guest guest
Wonder if this Sugar Solution will help those who take prednisone Sugar Solution focuses on the Glycemic Index, and I gotta tell you, I'm not craving the sweets like I was. My blood sugar is staying much more level thru the day, and I've lost 2 pounds! LOL! It gives you a shopping list, recipes, even the first 4 wks of daily menus and the recipes. You get the omelets, the nuts and fruit, and cheese, and all the other good stuff. It just puts it together so that - as I refer to it- (and since my brain is scrambled) an "idiots" guide to success. My A1C was 6.1-- but my weight has been climbing. This actually helps with the "metabolic" syndrome (which we all have because of the prednisone)-- and with the immune supressants- I'm sure most of us have stopped our metabolisms (I sure have) so this will address that issue. I talked with the Oncologist/Hematologist last week when I got my Remicade infusion- and he stated that with these meds we're on- that it would be impossible for us not to have to deal with metabolic shutdown. His answer was diet and basic exercise (get that 1lb bag of spaghetti out of the cupboard and use it as a barbell) and do some arm lifts. Start with one or two each day, and work up-- even a little counts and will bring back some of that long lost strength. If you are so wiped out that even 1lb is too much- start with a sponge. But start. Make believe you're swimming, and do a few arm strokes. Start slow. If you can do only one or two-- that's ok. One or two today, then 3 tomorrow, then 4 the next day-- but do it. You'll be amazed at how well and how fast you go up! You can sit in your chair and march in place. Or stand with your hands on the back of a chair and do a leg lift or two. We have to learn to crawl back to some level of conditioning, and reclaim what little bit we can. Don't push it-- just do it consistently and daily, and you will see improvement in just one week. Guys, I'm living proof. I'm now realizing that by being sedentary, I've surrendered so much of my health-- and yeah, it was painful to start-- but that's why you only do one or two of whatever you can do-- and work up-- so that the pain doesn't stop you from doing it again.
