Guest guest
Has anyone else had recurring bladder problems? I noticed where Terri mentioned something about a bladder problem and it made me think of my own on/off problem with pain in this area. It's not bad right now but will bother me every once in awhile. I then will go on an antibx (levaquin) and it disappears. I haven't seen anything about sarcoid affecting the bladder so was just wondering if this could be connected or a coincidence. Thanks.Blessings,Becky Want to start your own business? Learn how on Yahoo! Small Business.
Guest guest
HI Becky, Yes, I have bladder problems. I have been incontinent for several years due to the "sarc-monster." This can cause recurrent urinary tract infections as well as kidney infections if not monitored properly. Perhaps it is a good time to see a urologist to see if you are emptying your bladder properly. If not, then this can lead to discomfort, pain, frequent urges to urinate, odor and discoloration in your urine and output. So, don't put it off. The exam is pain free with ultra sound. The only unfavorable part is the sticky cold gel. Other than that it takes only a few minutes to complete. It is worth the exam when confronted with renal problems. Agreed? Guest guest
Becky, Search by Neurogenic Bladder and sarcoidosis and you'll get more info than you ever wanted. Due to the spinal involvement many of us have, it's not at all unusual, and many of the drugs we take make it even more of an issue. Just another of the "whammy's" we're all so familiar with. Practice those "kegels." Blessings, Tracie NS Co-owner/moderator
Guest guest
Becky My most annoying and biggest problem is my bladder problem. I had tests done & the doc said my bladder & brain don't talk to each other & it's as if I had a babie's bladder.grannylunatic@... Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail. Guest guest
Hi ,Every so often I get a bladder infection. Starts suddenly and the levaquin does help. I also have mild incontinence but guess that goes with being 49 and having had 4 children (youngest is 20). I hydrate well but still find that my urine is concentrated much of the time. In 1999 when had hysterectomy the urologist looked in my bladder via cystoscopy and said was irritable (also had a polyp in the tube...now wonder if was a sarcoid nodule). Never had these problems until after sarcoid diagnosis. Thanks for your reply.Blessings,Becky wrote: Becky My most annoying and biggest problem is my bladder problem. Guest guest
Hi Becky I have had problems with mild incontience too. But as you said, it has only been for as long as I have had the sarcoid. I take oxybutynin for it.Debbie T.Co-ModeratorMac Tosh wrote: Hi ,Every so often I get a bladder infection. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, The oxybutynin unfortunately won't be an option for me b/c the steroids make me hypertensive. But I do appreciate the info:)Blessings,BeckyDebbie wrote: Hi Becky I have had problems with mild incontience too. But as you said, it has only been for as long as I have had the sarcoid. Guest guest
Hey guys, I have a bladder problem also and one of the things I do is take a supplement called prelief. It removes the acid from the foods you eat and that way your bladder is not irritated from acidic foods. Just thought you would want to know. Terri PS If your pharmacy doesn't have it, ask the pharmacist to order it for you. I did. >> Becky> I have a little better control since I cut my coffee back to the half caffeine blend.> > > > grannylunatic@...> > ---------------------------------> We have the perfect Group for you. Guest guest
Hi Debbie,It's not. The steroids have made me hypertensive and the oxybutrin (spelling?) adds to the increased BP by increasing it even further.
