Guest guest
Hi all, Anyone have problems with Mt Sinai PAs saying they haven't gotten tes results? I got a call this afternoon from PA stating she hadn't receive the results of various tests even those these things were faxed and if they weren't re-sent in the next couple of hours she was going to cancel my surgery for June 12th. So, I got on the phone and got everyones assurance that everything would be refaxed even though they all complained they had already done it. I called to check with a couple of hours later and she states nothing was received by them and that I should wait until October. I must admit I am upset. I sent an e-mail to Dr Herron stating that I am free to get the results tomm and fax them myself. I don't know what else to do. My girlfriend thinks they are just trying to postpone the surgery. I don't know. I had every test, plus gastric PH,( had a catheter measuring ph for 24 hours...that was very uncomfortable) and gastric pressure readings and cardiology consult w! hen I have no cardiac problems. I have done everything I was asked to do and don't know what else to do. I just needed to vent....but if anyone else has had any of these problems tell my how you resolved it. Thanks Gwen T. Guest guest
Gwen: fortunately I did not have that happen to me but I have had pretty bad experiences with the whole Mt. Sinai office, i.e., getting in touch with them when I had post-op problems, Not getting calls back for days, etc.. They are very busy, understaffed and unorganized in my opinion. You must follow through always with them. After your tests are faxed, call immediately and make sure they received them, don't wait an hour. You could try having the results faxed to you and you fax them to Mt. Sinai. Be persistent, Be, Be Persistent! Don't let them cancel your surgery! Tell them they have to find the results that have been faxed to them. They are not being faie after all you went through and all the time you waited. tell them this. ALSO, make sure your other doctors are faxing to the right fax number. On the bottom of my sheet, i remember, it was crossed out and a new number was written in. Maybe you have the wrong #??? Good Luck! Jill K in NY 8.5 weeks post-op -54 lbs Dr. Gagner __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I just had to add my two cents worth: They are overworked, understuffed etc etc. Keep on calling, calling, calling and don't give up. I went thru the same aggravation when they 'never received' the results of my endoscopy and because of it my surgery had to be postponed for 2 weeks while I had to take antibiotics for the h/pilory. JUST HANG IN THERE - IN THE END IT'LL ALL BE WORTH IT. Best of luck to you. Guest guest
Christa, Jill & Anne, -thanks for all the good advice. Dr Herron is my hero today. I got a call at 8:30 am from his PA after he got my e-mails and everything is okay. They "found" my info and everything seems to be on track. They sent my file "downstairs" which means everything is on track (Ihope). Got a call from the financial office at the hospital but I wasn't home. I was out getting a chest xray and one more blood test. I have my hotel for Monday and will have surgery next Tuesday. I am eager for the future. Gwen T.
