I agree, more of the pediatricians there should be more aware of the disease. Although we were treated great, and nobody second guessed Cohen in any way, the pediatricians were convinced she had a virus. I was very glad Dr. Cohen made it clear what he wanted to all the doctors, or I think she may have not recieved the care she did. We did have one doctor, who in good heart, wanted to try giving fluids through her g tube instead of giving her an IV. I outright told her no and she was fine with doing the IV. I am glad I stepped up, though, because she still dehydrated after the IV was in. At a place like CCF where mito patients are very common, the staff should be much more aware of the disease.
