OT-blood in urine and increase in kidney function counts. Anyone else?

I recently went thru a bunch of tests, scans, even some surgery to check and see

why my kidneys are bleeding. My dr could find no mechanical problem with them

and all of my tests run normal for urine content, except the blood, of course.

My kidneys began to bleed in April. Up until this week ALL number have been

normal, but now my GI wants me to get in to see the urologist ASAP because my

kidney function levels were elevated. Anyone on Remicade ever been though this?

Or conversely has anyone on the diet been through this and seen a correlation

with food? I just started keeping a food diary again, and so far cannot

pinpoint anything.

Our nanny recently had your symptoms and it turned out that she had kidney

stones.

Have you been checked for those?

I don't mean to alarm you--just wanted to share.

I hope you feel better.

Thanks for the ideas and well wishes. My uro said that Remicade COULD be the

culprit, but he couldn't be sure enough to suggest we stop the treatment...one

of those " the benefits of use outweighs the risk " right now. Though I don't

want to be on Remicade for much longer, I was hoping I could stay on it while we

undergo IVF treatment to prevent flares during and immediately after pregnancy.

I am one of those people who flares with hormone issues and stress, IVF is

riddled with both, so I am counting on the Remicade to see me through it to

protect me and a baby I could be pregnant with. We'll see, I guess. I did tell

my GI dr if I had to choose between my kidneys and colon, I would choose my

kidneys hands down. Since this has been ongoing since APril we have looked at

tons of potential causes, so yeah, they have already ruled out kidney stones and

cancer, etc. The bleeding is unexplained because after 2 CT scans, many many

blood tests, urinalyses, cytoscoping and an actual surgery where they biopsied

my bladder and forced contrast thru the ureters into the kidneys backwards to

get an " ultra clear " picture of the kidneys themselves, they have come to the

conclusion that everything is as it should be and WAS functioning normally not

even 2 months ago...anyway, I guess we will wait it out, but I wanted to ask

because sometimes people on the list have dealt with similar issues but they

don't speak of them. Just had to check the knowledge base!! Thanks!
