My heart goes out to you. Is there a way you can postpone this surgery until after the kids graduation? I know how much you want to see this. What a wonderful milestone!

I truly don't know anything about the openheart surgery. When had his aortic valve replaced 5 yrs ago, they did a double bypass at the same time, so they shouldn't have to go in again for many years.

He has an artificial valve (the one they use for the fuel tanks on the spaceshuttle.) and it's supposed to last a life time. (Some say you'll get 15 yrs out of it- but I wonder if they're thinking that only 70 yr olds need heart sx).

Know that all of us here will have you in our prayers, and in our thoughts. You are one strong lady, and I know that the thought of undergoing the butchering (I mean surgery) has got to have you scared.

Love to you, and we will be waiting to hear about that Valedictorian speech.

Gosh , your a medical first for me to hear of a 3rd open heart

surgery, but I guess as long as you are competely healed and recovered

from the other surgeries is what matters. I'm sure each and everytime it

takes a little more out of you, and I'm sure your doctor's won't do the

surgery too close together.. My heart goes out to you, and I certainly

will be thinking of you on the 28th.. I have cataract surgery that day

as well on my Right eye so, I won't forget that a friend across the pond

is having a much more serious surgery and is in need of our thoughts and

prayers much much more than I..

Hang in there sweetie, we are with you.

need a third open heart surgery for my cardiac sarc. I meet with the

butcher on the 28th of this month it would be my third open heart

surgery teresa do you know if there is a limit to the amount of times

they can open one person up? I am high risk anyway am I higher risk

since I have already had two? The tricuspid valve they put in isn't

working I have fluid on my tummy and my feet swell and I cant eat

anything it pushes on my tummy because the back flood is so big I faint.

I get out of breath yet since they put in the resynchronization wire I

can breathe I still run out of air I get soooo tired.

Hi ,My brother had open heart surgery 3 times and then had a couple of stents placed. He is also high risk having had 3 MI's. He's diabetic with numerous other major medical problems (hx 3 brain anuerysms yrs ago). He's in his 70's now and I tease him about being the "energizer bunny" b/c he won't give up some of his hobbies (like climbing into a deer stand to hunt Bambi's...I don't agree with it but that's just him!). You will be in my prayers with lots of positive thoughts coming your way. I go Monday for my defibulator to be implanted for cardiac sarcoid. Congrats on your fine children and the upcoming birth of your granddaughter. I know you will be proud to see all of them when the time comes.
