Guest guest
Hi Lola, I do not have Empire or UHC currently, but United Health Care PPO is available to me. If I was unable to get my current insurance (CDPHP) to approve the BPD/DS out-of-netowrk, then I was prepared to switch to UHC at year-end. Most of the docs at Mt Sinai are participating in UHC. Pomp, Herron and Inabnet (don't know why Gagner is not listed). I actually checked their website just now and found that Ren IS listed. Try http://www.provider.uhc.com If you are unable to get your plan to approve out-of-network with Dr Ren, maybe you can consider one of the Sinai docs? Their website is www.surgiclyslim.com if you need info. You say you have NYS employee coverage. Do you live in the Albany area? We have lots of State employees around here and from what I have heard, insurance coverage is generally excellent in terms of them approving stuff.
