Guest guest
I do not know for sure if this is the ideal way of giving Miralax, but this is what we do. We fill a big sippy of milk or water for Grace. We then add the Miralax to the sippy and let her drink it at will. It may take her awhile to get it all in, but eventually it gets there. We have never noticed any bad side affects and it really helps her. Before Miralax I had a two year old with bleeding hemmorids, now she is fine. Hope this is some help for you. ,Mommy to (9), (7), Bre-Anne (6), Grace (2) and our newest arrival is due Sept. 20thFor the latest baby info, and to see our family check out:www.BabyCountDown.com?baby=4007
Guest guest
To all: Just curious about the Miralax. How much fluids per day are you giving your child while they take the Miralax daily? We give our son Miralax too (and regulate the amounts we give him by how he is doing), and it has helped him with his delayed gastric emptying. I have not seen any side effects, but he has only been on it for approx. 6 months. My biggest problem with my son is fluids hurt his stomach. Example: when he eats a meal, as soon as he adds fluids, his stomach will start to hurt faster than if he eats without fluids. Getting him to drink fluids during the day is VERY difficult because he fills up so fast on them and his stomach begins to hurt. I do realize with a laxative it is important to drink fluids too. I have tried to set a timer every 30 min. just to get fluids down him, but, of course, he doesn't like this method and he will only take sips. Thanks, Shirley, mom to and Jordan
Guest guest
is 30 and has been taking Miralax for 3 years. She has a lot of mental issues but they were present before Miralax. It is the only thing we have found that helps at this juncture for her. She takes 17 mg twice a day most days. We also include a lot of fiber and raw fruit in her diet when she is able to chew. We seldom have trouble getting adequate liquids in her. When she can't drink we crush ice really fine and add liquid or add it to a homemade fruit smoothie and feed it to her with a spoon. That works for us. Thanks for all of your suggestions and responses. Shelby, mom of , 30 years old with mitochondrial encephalopathy. > To all: > > Just curious about the Miralax.
