Determining food allergies?

Hi-

A friend suggested that I could meet a allergist or a naturopath, who can

determine food allergies. Apparently, naturopathy has worked for at least one UC

case that she knows.

I am wondering if that'd make my life easier with SCD, knowing a priori what to

avoid and what to take, and may be some suggestions on supplements?

She also suggested the following book:

ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260440178&sr=1-7

Anybody has any experience?

Thanks,

Andy

I've been to a traditional allergist after a bad reaction to a tiny bit of

cashew butter. I can't say that it helped. I tested anywhere from mild to

serious with a variety of nuts (both blood test and scratch test). Pecan and

almond were moderate (although the blood test and scratch test varied on which

one was worse), but since I seem to have no problem with them, I go ahead and

eat them. I felt like I might be allergic to bananas (made my mouth feel a

little weird), but the scratch test came back normal. The only thing I really

learned was to not bother trying hazelnuts or pistachios, because they ranked

worse then cashews on my scratch test.

Maybe you could follow a rotation diet if you feel you're sensitive to certain

foods?
