Someone had wanted info on the dr people have used in Mexico. My neighbor went

and she's had great results. I'm sorry i'm not at home so I don't have access

to the person I was talking to. This gal wrote up a great website with all the

details you could want if this is soemthing you think you want to do.

Just out of curiosity....

Does anybody have any concerns with going to a foreign country to have any

sort of surgery done?

Why is this procedure being touted on the DS list? The results just are not

anywhere near those of the DS. There are lists for folks seeking and

getting the band.

I'd have gone to Spain for my DS if my insurance had not paid. First I'd

pick a surgeon. Then figure out how to get there.

Remember, to those in Mexico and Spain, the US is a " foreign country " .

I had to wonder that myself, . The VGB fails at 40% in 5 years.

Not good odds, but to each his own as they say...

Did you mean to sound like the list police? I don't think discussing the

newly approved band procedure here is so far off topic. I am curious, and

I would even consider opting for it as a temporary measure to get the

BMI down for a safer DS. And I don't think " touted " is exactly what was

going on. There are plenty of lists for anything you want, including

other DS lists I think your tone in the post above is just a touch too

strident. We are sharing information not trolling for converts to the

one true faith, here, okay?

Thank you for your viewpoint and interesting and discourteous way of

characterizing my statements. Those of us who are post op stay here to

offer support and information to the pre op folks. When I was a pre op on

this list I actually appreciated the contributions of the post op folks.

How things change.
