Guest guest
> Hey, > Making it for my friend.. > What's your best almond milk recipe? 1 quart milk to 1 3/4 cups whole, blanched or ground almonds. put in blender with 2 dates and 1 TB honey - or 3 dates - or 2 TB. honey (or to taste). grind 10 minutes. use froth on top of milk in some coffee, to serve as a cappucino froth. pour the rest into a dishcloth or nutbag or some other contraption for separating out what you don't want and let it drip. Then wring out the rest and voila almond milk. I swear doing these wringing exercises are giving me stronger fingers. Mara

Guest guest
Has anyone ever made almond milk with a juicer?? I bought a juicer because of that but have yet to find a recipe? Is there any way to skip the wringing part? Betty
Guest guest
> Has anyone ever made almond milk with a juicer?? I bought a juicer because of that but have yet to find a recipe? Well, I wouldn't think it would work with a juicer, because you are not juicing the almonds, you are mixing them up with water and suspending the fat and the flavor. But you could certainly try it with a small amount - just so you don't waste much if it doesn't work - and report back on your experiment. But I think if it worked that way, people would do it that way - as many of the people who make almond milk also own good juicers. > Is there any way to skip the wringing part? Nope - not unless you don't mind wasting tons of it, but it may be easier to do with a nut milk bag, not sure. Plus, finger strengthening exercise! Not a bug, a feature! Guest guest
I have a juicer and it came with directions for making almond milk using the juicer. You're supposed to soak the nuts (I forget how long) and then put them through the juicer. I'm sure this would take care of the straining part of making nutmilk, but I still think it's easier to make one large batch in the blender at a time and strain it than to run them through the juicer and then clean all that mess up. I'll try it one day and let everyone know how it works out.-UC - 1 yearSCD - 3.5 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 4 pills 3 times a day - hopefully scd will help me get off these! Guest guest
You could leave the pulp in and just have a thicker milk? That's one way to skip the wringing part! I do that depending on what type of nut milk I'm making. Stacey > > Has anyone ever made almond milk with a juicer?? Some people can't handle the pulp after the good stuff is moved into the almond milk. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
