Chicken question

I have tried posting this question at pecanbread, but for

some reason my emails are not showing up, so having a go at

it here.

We usually get our chicken from a local fresh meat counter

or from farmers we know. We are going to be traveling to

relatives to see a new dr. and the relatives want to have

some food ready for us. Can anyone tell me what brands of

chicken are legal at Whole Foods or Trader Joes?

TIA,

Rhonda

,

No, haven't gotten a reply yet. I've tried looking on TJ &

WF websites, but didn't come up with anything and the

nearest ones to me are 3 hours away. My relatives are being

so helpful...usually no one volunteers to help us with food

;-), but I don't know how to guide them in what chicken to

buy.

I don't live near a TJ's or WF, but I think any chicken that does not contain

additives is legal. Watch out for added broth or natural flavorings. If the

chicken is minimally processed with no added broth or flavorings, it is probably

OK.

I like a brand " sanderson farms " . I can get it at Lowes Foods if one is near

you.

I use the Organic pastured chickens from Trader Joes and they seem to be fine.

They come in whole chickens, and breasts and thighs and drum sticks. I don't

know if they are as " pastured " as the chickens I get from my Amish farmer, but

they say they are organic and pastured. Judy
