Guest guest
Prescription diet pills only result in a modest weight loss and they're slow. Why not try crystal methamphetamine? It's available on most street corners, works fast, produces big weight loss, and you can get a lot done while you're on it. I'm sure they'd help you detox before surgery. Then postop you can just rely on the pouch to take your weight off and eat whatever you want to eat. Eventually a couple of years down the line you'll either be fat again or be back on diets, crystal, etc... but hey, why do it the hard way? Hahaha Martha > I was just wondering if anyone has used Doctor prescribed diet pills > to help with the 10 percent weight loss? Would it effect the > surgury? > Holla back Post-ops! Guest guest
Martha, I know that you thought that your email would be a funny one and that you were trying to be funny but I personally did not find your email funny at all. I know that you are post op and that you realize that a lot of people post op have issues of one sort or another whether they have turned to alcohol or drugs or just the addiction to food and that we can't make light of additions here. Guest guest
WOW!!! I never thought that question would bring such a rumble in the jungle...it sure spiced things up in here! Pamela, I totally appreciate your post. Thank-you. Martha, yours on the other hand, didn't give off a warm fuzzy feeling. You came across quite harsh. Whoever said, "there is no such thing as a stupid question," lied. Because your post made me feel it. I understand what you're saying...sometimes you have to feel a burn to learn the lesson at hand. Thanks for the crude wake-up call! Besides, I couldn't go with crystal meth. because I like my teeth. ~~~Pamela A Marsh wrote: Martha, I know that you thought that your email wouldbe a funny one and that you were trying to be funnybut I personally did not find your email funny at all.I know that you are post op and that you realize thata lot of people post op have issues of one sort oranother whether they have turned to alcohol or drugsor just the addiction to food and that we can't makelight of additions here.Pam Marsh--- nursefera2 wrote:> Prescription diet pills only result in a modest> weight loss and> they're slow. Guest guest
, Just because I'm not always warm and fuzzy doesn't mean I don't loooove you. Wait a minute, how many negatives does it take in a sentence to make a positive statement? Besides, you have lots of nice girls on the list to give you that warm and fuzzy teddy bears and fluffy baby chicks feeling. I, as you say, I " spiced things up " . That's me, walking all over the list in my stiletto heels, striking a kinky blow for sarcasm in all its many useful forms. Even though it stings, you seem to sorta like it! You CAN have it both ways... There are no stupid questions, only boring answers. Keep your teeth, you might want to use them on me. Hahaha Martha > WOW!!! Guest guest
Any one who knows and loves Martha( I do!! I do!!!) knows while she may speak from the hip....she totally has our well being at hand. She will never sugar coat things, she tells it like it is. I always joke that she is my kick in the butt!!!! You gotta love her for her honesty. Excuses and rationalizations is what led us to obesity in the first place. Martha understands that and will not allow us to wallow in it. She wants us to take responsibility for ourselves!!! You go Martha.....I love you!!!! Huggles > > WOW!!! Guest guest
If you want a warm fuzzy feeling, get a dog. If you want straight answers, post your questions here. (BTW, the only stupid questions are the ones not asked.) My alarm bells went off too, when I read that anyone in the Kaiser bariatrics program would contemplate using diet pills, to achieve their 10%! Isn't that the same diet mentality that got us all here, in the first place? The method behind Mamma Kaiser's madness is multifunctional. Requiring a 10% pre-op weight loss has many possitive effects: a. It makes the surgery easier to perform and less risky. b. It shows your ability to compy with the program's requirements. c. It demonstrates your commitment to change your relationship with food. c. It gives you time to adopt to and practice the post-op lifestyle, which will be required for long-term success. Think about the implications of using diet pills, to make one's 10% pre-op weight loss requirement. a. It's unhealthy. The 1200 cal/day meal plan is. b. It's not a permanent solution. The post-op lifestyle is. c. It suggests a desire for a fast, sacrifice-free, magic solution, which will allow one to continue their old lifestyle post-op. The surgery is only a tool, not some snakeoil shilled on late-nite TV. d. It suggests an unwillingness to discover, face, and deal with the issues that made us morbidly obese. The surgery is performed with a scalpel, not a magic wand and it's done on our stomachs, not our heads. Make an appointment with your dietician, to review and/or customize a meal plan which will allow you to make your 10% pre-op loss safely and sensibly. Guest guest
, all I can tell you is that when you post a question, prepare to read whatever. The important thing is that you can read and take what you want from the post and the rest of the garbage you can trash it. Just try to stay focused on you and learn everything that you can on here and other places like obesityhelp.com. I know that you are going to be fine. Hang in there dear. Guest guest
Seems to be that 3 x would make it a positive statement; third time is a charm Everyone, I think/I hope, can appreciate your sarcasm. It made me think to myself...WHAT WAAAASSSS I THINKING???? I have never used prescribed diet pills so, I was just wondering about it.
