Guest guest
Has anyone had thyroid trouble after surgery? I had my surgery on April 9th 2001 and somethings wrong but we dont know what. After takeing a new type of synthroid my thyroid feels like it is fluttering and raceing...I am scared to take it now. Monday they will do some blood work, but I was wondering If you'all have any ideas or advise??? Sandyc
Guest guest
Sounds like the new brand is much more potent. call your doctor to see if he wants you to continue taking it! Guest guest
This is what happened to me when my dosage was increasee until it got in my system but I would call the doc for sure. I take synthroid but plan to ask my doc about Unithroid. For more (and probably all...LOL) the info you can go to thyroid.about.com This is a great place. Hope this helps. Oh yeah, make sure you don't take your thyroid meds with other supplements. I didn't know any better and my latest labs showed up hypo again. Guest guest
this is very interesting and concerning. In 1974 I was born...without a thyroid so I have been taking Synthroid for 26 going on 27 years. I am severely obese BMI is 58 and I am having DS with Dr. Herron on August 1st. There was an article not to long ago re: thyroid medicine and they were saying there were some bad batches out there to where people where having tests show up fine but they really werent. They were going back and forth from hypo to hyper and were gaining weight for no reason. Now Sandy and anyone else post up, has this taking synthroid effected your weight loss? Dr. Herron said it should have no impact but I would like to hear your experiences. Thanks so much! Guest guest
My thyroid tests have come back fine so far (have had 2 in the 4-1/2 months since surgery). I feel my weight loss is where it should be considering my starting weight, the length of my common channel and other factors. I take .125mcg of levoxyl daily - same as before surgery. -Sherry (Lake Marcel, WA) BPD/DS Feb. 2, 2001 self-pay 5'5 " / 326 pounds / 33 years old Lost 9 pounds in pre-op weight loss efforts Have lost 85 pounds since surgery! Guest guest
Sherry, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I love your pictures! I can't wait until August 1! My husband and I just bought an inground swimming pool tonight and it will be in by July 30th. This works out perfect! I can recover floating in my pool. I can't wait to start my new life. I am not expecting to become Ally McBeal but if I could get down to 140 I would be happy. I am 5'1 on a good day! --- Sherry shelters@...> wrote: > My thyroid tests have come back fine so far (have > had 2 in the > 4-1/2 months since surgery). > > I feel my weight loss is where it should be > considering my > starting weight, the length of my common channel and > other > factors. > > I take .125mcg of levoxyl daily - same as before > surgery. > > -Sherry (Lake Marcel, WA) > BPD/DS Feb. 2, 2001 > self-pay > 5'5 " / 326 pounds / 33 years old > Lost 9 pounds in pre-op weight loss efforts > Have lost 85 pounds since surgery! > Total of 94 pounds gone forEVER! > http://www.fluffynet.com/wls/ > > > > > > > > > > Has anyone had thyroid trouble after surgery? > > > > I had my surgery on April 9th 2001 and > somethings > > > wrong but we dont > > > > know what.
