Thank you. I'll see if my doc will give me an RX for Miralax.

It's been a couple of years so I am not certain what i had but it was

the one with NutriSweet in it. Since they only gave me a choice

between that and about four sets of pills (with four sets of who

knows what all in them) I thought surely the NutriSweet just once

wouldn't be that bad. It was. I had heart attack symptoms for four

days and probably should have gone to ER to make sure it was just the

stupid NS, but I didn't because I felt so awful. It took me a month

to get over that prep. Just for a procedure!

So I suggest, stay away from Nutri Sweet! It really is nasty

stuff. (My sister had seizures from it until I sent her enough

articles on the connection that she finally paid attention.)

I did the fleet enema prep for a colonoscopy in 2007 and ended up hospitalized

with severe potassium and magnesium deficiencies. (My gastro's take? " Wow,

that's a really unusual reaction, " and he never otherwise addressed it.) There

are preps that aren't supposed to deplete the body of electrolytes, although

I've no idea if they're legal.

I looked into alternatives to the traditional prep, and someone told me (and I

have not verified) that minimal diet modification combined with a colonic would

work. Might be worth looking into, as a colonic is so much more pleasant (to

put it mildly) than the traditional preps.
