Guest guest
Referencing the BCBS policy and getting approval for BPD/DS is this just a California thing or are all the BCBS's going to start turning down the surgery? I live in NC and plan to use Dr. Elariny. Regards, Genell Pridgen just getting started

Cobra plans are designed to make sure you are not completely without coverage when you leave a job . I do not think BC will be excluding all WLS for all plans-- it will depend on your state, the plan your employer bought, and the options you have (like PPO vs. HMO). If someone could enlighten me as to what started this concern, I'd appreciate it. In any case, whatever plan you have now, the benefits are not going to change until the " open enrollment period " which is usually when the policy is up for renewal-- it is a contract and the provisions are set until then. Guest guest
I have BCBS of PA....I was told that because I was going out of network that they would pay 80%.....they actually covered it at 100%....except for a $400 dollar anesthesia charge which I will pay.
