We are so delighted to announce that Gaby has recently celebrated her 9th

birthday! She remains " well " despite her multiple medical and physical

problems. She has made it through winter so far without illness which is a

first (hopefully I am not speaking too soon)

Gaby's seizures remain well controlled with the ketogenic diet. She has

recovered well from her hip surgery last year, and is tolerating wearing her

back brace for her scoliosis. She has learnt more songs, but still doesn't

speak. My husband has wired her headphones and discman to the wheelchair

head piece, so she can have mobile music! This helps with her yelling, which

we feel is most likeley frustration.

Gaby had a new g tube placed recently. Each time we replace it, we wonder

if it will be the last..now I just plan ahead!

She loves her school. Gaby had a party this year for the first time ever,

with her friends from school. It was a lovely time, and I'm so glad we

arranged this for her.

We soemtimes forget how fragile her life is, particularly when she has long

periods of wellness. But for now, we enjoy, and we are grateful

ne,

mum to Gaby, now 9!! PDH, microcephaly, seizures, g tube, non talker, great

singer, wheelchair bound, fast crawler, and happiest little girl, Australia
