Guest guest
HI Tina, My suggestion would be to call either Dr Baggs or where you had your surgery and talk to a Bariatric advice nurse. Unfortunately there are some docs that are still totally clueless to the needs of people like us. It could be a simple virus like the doctor said or it could be something else. Hope you feel better soon. Ramona
Guest guest
Tina I would call or contact or see dr baggs, its important to figure this out and ten days is too long please do this today...........if even for peace of mind ColleenTina wrote: I posted awhile back about having chronic diarrhea for about a week (it's been 10 days now). I finally went and saw a doc at Kaiser on Sunday. He wasn't very helpful. Said it was probably a virus, but we'd do stool samples to make sure and to just stay hydrated by drinking lots of liquids, like sprite and 7-up (I laughed) and that I needed to eat the BRAT diet. When I explained to him I don't eat bananas, rice, applesauce, or toast he was quite perplexed. He didn't understand why I couldn't eat those. He professed to having knowledge of gastric bypass and that I should be able to eat anything that I want. When I told him that I'm only 4 months post-op and only pretty much eat protein which a vegie, fruit, or maybe a cracker or two thrown in here and there, he said "well, I guess just do the best you can."Anyway, 10 days I've had this and I'm sure I'm quite dehydrated. I just can't seem to drink enough water. On top of all of this, I started my new graveyard job on the 26th of September. I've been sick the entire time. Everything hurts my stomach so trying to figure out what to eat at night and drink is difficult. I just can't eat another cheese stick! I'm all out of whack.Help! Any suggestions?!?TinaDr. Baggs5/24/05Orientation: 330Surgery: 294Stuck at: 222 (for 2 weeks now)-108 overall Colleen
Guest guest
Tina so sorry for your problem, my suggestion is please get a hold of Dr. Baggs. Sometimes you need to deal with your surgeon, or the bariatric staff where you had your surgery done. Even though PCP seem to know some about our surgery, some things there just not sure and we need to ask for more help from the ones who have the knowledge. Guest guest
I put a call in to Dr. Baggs' office and I'm waiting to hear back from them. I've given up on eating...just trying to stay hydrated! Hopefully I'll hear back from his office tomorrow. Thanks everyone! This is getting really really old. I haven't been to work for the past 2 nights because I feel horrible (lifeless) and I just can't go sit in a desk and type for 8 hours, especially since I can only use the bathroom on my breaks! Guest guest
That is the best thing you can do. Your bariatric doc will be more knowledgeable. I know you didn't have your surgery at the same place as I am going to have mine but I remember reading in my folder that if something upsets your tummy to start back at the liquid stage. Just my 2 cents. Kym >>I put a call in to Dr. Baggs' office and I'm waiting to hear back from them. I've given up on eating...just trying to stay hydrated!
