Guest guest Posted December 4, 2006 Report Share Posted December 4, 2006 National Eye Institute U.S. National Institutes of Health A STUDY ON SARCOIDOSIS PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: This is an investigational study to evaluate patients with sarcoidosis documenting a complete eye examination and determining special markers that can be used to understand how sarcoidosis affects the body. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Patients who have a biopsy-proven diagnosis of sarcoidosis from ages 6 years old and above and are able to consent to participate in the study may enroll. Participation is entirely voluntary; there may or may not be any personal benefit while participating in the study; all personal information obtained will be held in strict confidence. TIME AND OTHER COMMITMENTS: You will be seen on an initial visit where a comprehensive eye examination will be conducted. If your disease is stable, then a follow-up visit will be done every 12 months for 3 years. LOCATION OF THE STUDY: The study will be conducted in the outpatient clinic of the National Eye Institute located in the National Institutes of Health, Building 10, 10 Circle Drive, Bethesda, land 20892.
