Guest guest
I recently had a stool test and got the results from the doctor today. He said that I have ZERO good bacteria Lactobacillus in my intestines. He wants me to take a minimum of 30 Billion a day. I've been taking Theralac (illegal, I know) but am surprised that I still have ZERO Lactobacillus in me. Makes no sense. The doctor also said that I do not have sufficient absorption, especially of vegetables and carbs. He said I need to take an enzyme digest BEFORE I eat to help with digestion. I've been taking Digest Gold which is SCD compliant. Still I'm not getting efficient absorption. Wonder why that is? I'm waiting for the results of my Celiac Sprue test from my GI doctor which I suppose might explain why I'm not getting good absorption of vegetables and carbs if it shows I have Celiac Disease. Anyway, I'm trying to figure out which of the two Lactobacillus I should order that are SCD compliant. One is from Klaire Labs and the other is Kirkman Labs. Could someone here advice me what they feel would be my best option of the two? http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/ViewProductDetails@Product_ID (AT) 288 (DOT) aspx http://www.klaire.com/K-LAC_proddetail.htm Or, if there is another one that you feel might be a better option for me, please feel free to share with me. I suspect I'm going to find out I have Celiac Disease. I have Lyme Disease and a big percentage of Lyme patients have Celiac Disease. I really hope I don't have it, but considering how much pain I've been in over the past two months I would not be surprised. Any comments, suggestions and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Guest guest
.. You should be eating lactofermented foods. There are a lot more bacteria in there than a supplement. On the SCD we starve all bacteria and since we can't do prebiotics as that will MADLY feed the bad bugs the probiotics have trouble implanting in our diseased guts. Acidophilous will implant some and so will Lacto Plantarum (spelling?) that is in sauerkraut. Start there and don't overly concern yourself with test results. Just stick to the SCD. My gut still shows pathetic numbers (zero for that matter) But I am better than I have ever been in my life!! Jodi > > I recently had a stool test and got the results from the doctor today. Guest guest
Jodi, I've read posts at a SCD board (can't remember which) about people who were concerned about getting an overgrowth of good bacteria. So that isn't really an issue then? Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > .. > > You should be eating lactofermented foods. Guest guest
Do the probiotics recommended on the pecanbread site need doc authorization? I just called Klaire labs and they said that they need doctors authorization...
