hello ,

With NS that is my number ONE complaint and always have been from the start. I wouldn't call them headaches.. because a normal headache can't touch what these headaches feel like lol.

I always have muscle aches.. like when i try to fold laundry ..ect.. hurts to hold my arms up.

Than i also have ... Restless leg syndrome. witch a lot of us have.. and that drives me nuts. I take a drug called seniment for at night and it helps alot. It was to the point i was not sleeping most nights.. now maybe one night a month i will have RLS that my med don't help.

For the Head pain i wear a morphine patch and take demoral and ES Vicoden for. I am also on Imuran and plaquneil. and Elevil at night for the nerve pain..

Now i have Central neverous system vasculititis secondary.

Blessings my new friend.

hugs in Pa

Hi ,

You asked about muscle cramps and headaches. this is a common problem, and much of it has to do with blood sugar and hydration.

Have you had to take prednisone? Do you have problems with hypercaluria or hypercalcemia. (High levels of calcium in the urine.)

One of the things I've noticed is that when I was on pred, it was leaching the calcium from my bones and muscles-- and the subsequent pain was horrible.

I've found that even with this disease, it was still important to take an occasional calcium/magnesium tablet or two-- so that my muscles could relax.

Also, any amount of dehydration-- and coffee, sodas, alcohol all add to dehydration-- that my pain again went thru the roof. With the chronic inflammation and generally low grade fevers we run on a constant basis, it's easy to become slightly (or this time of year) very dehydrated.

Since the myelin sheath that covers all our muscles and nerves and ligaments--requires water to float-- again, if you've not got enough fluid in your system- then the pain goes up.

Other irritants are sugars (sweets, dairy products, processed foods with High Fructose Corn Syrup) put us into hell very quickly. The dairy products take the lactose and turn it into lactic acid--which irritates the joints and ligaments. You might want to try to cut out the dairy, and use Rice Dream or Soymilk instead. I find the Vanilla flavored ones to be good.

One of the life savers for me (and my sarc is systemic) is MSM Powder. The address is in the LINKS-- I believe it's PUREMSM.COM. One tablespoon with a quarter cup of water, and 10 min later-- the muscle and bone pain are gone.

The headaches can be do to the sarcoidosis and the vasculitis that it can cause in our brains. It can also be stress, or a sign of pinched nerves in your back or neck.

What tests, etc have you had done?

Let us know-- how we can help. and welcome to the gang,

Sincerely,

Tracie

and all,My left leg jerks along with the pain. It's a deep down inside burning pain (can be excruciating) and only affects my left leg. Is this the kind of leg pain you have? It always hurts deep in my left buttock at the same time. I do have 4 dime to quarter sized subq (dr believes they're sarcoid) nodules in my thigh on that same side. Thanks.Blessings,BeckyJessicAbouhamama@... wrote: hello , With NS that is my
