Guest guest
Oh, my! So sorry you have to deal with this complication right now, but glad at least you have an explanation for the pain. I hope the injection makes the trip more comfortable for you. Take care, Barbara > leg pain > > Hi > > I have a reason for the pain in my leg. Guest guest
Bummer Laurie, I've had a herniated disc and two bulging discs after a car accident. Definately not a fun experience...I'm sorry you're suffering. One piece of advice I can give you is that you should make sure the injection is several days or more before the wedding. It can take weeks for them to take effect, some don't work at all. I used to get them in my sacroiliac joint and for the first day or so you have pain relief (provided it works) then after the local anesthesia wears off, the pain can be much more severe than the injury itself as the steroids start to work. Personally, I've had mixed results and ultimately, PT was a better solution. Good luck and big hugs...hope it gives you some relief and you can enjoy the wedding. Guest guest
bug Thanks for the advice. My last steroid shot was in my wrist and done without the local as he didn't have any without preservative. I was ready to kill the doc the first 24 hours, but then it did help. I'll enjoy the wedding, no matter what, but the ride there might be more comfortable if the injection works. laurie > Bummer Laurie, I've had a herniated disc and two bulging discs after a > car accident. Guest guest
My left leg jerks along with the pain. It's a deep down inside burning pain (can be excruciating) and only affects my left leg. Is this the kind of leg pain you have? It always hurts deep in my left buttock at the same time. I do have 4 dime to quarter sized subq (dr believes they're sarcoid) nodules in my thigh on that same side. Becky, This sounds like you've got some sciatic nerve issue getting pinched, or impaired. Have you tried chiropratic? If those subq (subqutaneous granulomas -meaning under the skin) are pressing on nerves, then you would get this pain. This sounds like they may be an easy biopsy--have you considered this? I know that for me, all the lymphs in the back of my legs and around my knees get congested, and then they swell and put all kinds of pressure on the surrounding areas. The pain is nasty. Also, if your hip is out of alignment, or the vertebrae of the mid and low back, then just the balancing act that we have to do to compensate is enough to cause pain in other areas. I hope I'm making sense, I'm at the end of my Remicade (infusion next Wed, so I'm getting spacey.--sorry guys.) anyway, that inside the bone pain is so very nasty, and the MSM powder that I swear by has been my answer. Guest guest
Hi Tracie,Doctor believes is SFN r/t the sarcoid. It even hurts to have my clothes touch my skin when it acts up. Usually it is in late afternoon towards night. I take my steroids around 0400 so maybe wearing off a bit by then. No shooting pains...this had been going on for awhile but has gotten worse over past three months. I take the VicodinES when this happens and sometimes barely helps at all. The subq nodules are just under the skin so doctor didn't think they would cause a problem. I was going to have them removed but surgeon said as long as they don't hurt (they don't) and didn't grow we should leave them alone for now. The jerking is weird. I do need to get some of that MSM powder. I keep forgetting to ask my daughter to pick it up for me. What does MSM stand for? Since I'm on the Cellcept now, my doctor warned me to be very careful about OTC meds. The area in my buttock where the deep pain is was where I had multiple sarcoid skin lesions pop up for about two weeks. This was back in January.
