Guest guest
Since we talk bathroom here... I've been doing great- no major symptoms. I woke up last night a little nauseated. This morning I went and passed a large (like really large) amount of mostly hard stool until the end which was a little mushy. No B, no pain.. I must have been " backed up " as the nausea is gone. No major changes in diet. My symptoms initially were D from mild UC, so this is a change. I'm thinking this is a good thing- that all this came out. I'm almost 8 months into SCD. Is this a die- off ? Any advice? Thanks, PJ

Have you had D up until now, or trophies? Seems like your colon might be trying to get used to having solid BMs again, and doesn't quite have it down pat yet =) Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds! Guest guest
Is this the first time you're passing a hard, firm stool in months? BTW, what are " trophies " ? Sorry PJ, I don't have a specific answer. But I have a question: When I go to the bathroom, sometimes it looks like it is firm as it comes out but after being on the commode a bit, it gets slowly fragmented... Is this considered mushy or firm or fragmented or what you'd call it? Thanks.

Guest guest
> > Getting all blocked up, like what just happened? Sounds like you are having a bit of a change in your gut ecology. The nausea is likely a by product of accumulated toxins being released out of your body. So some die off, I would guess, as things change a bit. How long have you been on LDN now? Did you feel blocked up? I've on great occasion - maybe a couple times at most - had nausea associated with a bathroom visit/transiting of a BM. I don't tend to have really hard stools - so can't directly address that. Mara
Guest guest
I've been on LDN since Sept but just recently been upped to the full dose of 4.5 mg for 2-3 weeks. Didn't feel blocked at all. It was a surprise. Have had some C from time to time, but not like this. I was thinking gut ecology is changing- hopefully for the better. " Trophies " are properly formed stools which do not disintegrate when they hit the water in the toilet. It's a joke from the early days of the original SCD list. That when you did SCD correctly, you got a trophy for your efforts. Guest guest
I know this might seem strange, but since I've been on this diet, I I've been less regular (have more D and C) than before I started. However, I have less uncontrollable gas and feel more clear-headed. It seems like I traded one for another, but I'm hoping it's a good thing that I'll get adjusted to. Maybe it's a gut ecology thing like what was said below. I've also been getting less exercise due to more cooking but hope to start back soon. Guest guest
We are certainly changing our diet. I started with the C when I decided to reduce carbs and eat less fruit. It's sort of a balance between too much fruit/veggies and mushy stools to too little and harder ones. Trying to get this right. I guess this is trial and error. Not wanting to be graphic, but this last one was a trophy- an elephant trophy.
