Guest guest
Hi Eileen, Why do you feel all altar wine is "illegal"? There are many companies that produce sacramental wine and in some parishes it is commercial wine such as any of us might purchase. It must be pure and unadultarated. Some churches use a sweet and others a dry. If it is a wine I might buy and drink at home, why would this be illegal? The priest's chalice would be illegal because of the fragments of host, but the other chalices would be ok if verified prior to communion. This is why it is important to know which chalice is the one you would partake of. If you have heard this is no longer correct, please let me know---I receive communion this way and have for years. Guest guest
when I realized that I was receiving a low gluten host that was not legal -duh!!! I began questioning and I think some may be " drier " almost legal for recovering alcoholic priests but none have a 0 sugar content and was an altar wine - at least not here - I know Sheila from pecanbread 's pastor found one in Canada but not here in NY -and you are correct about the chalice - I would even get your own as I was offered - just thinking gluten/bacteria/who knows what off others mouths - yes I'm 100% fanatical - LOL Eileen > > Hi Eileen, > > Why do you feel all altar wine is " illegal " ? > > There are many companies that produce sacramental wine and in some parishes it is commercial wine such as any of us might purchase.
