Guest guest
Hello to all. I'm new here and still waiting on a diagnosis. My symptoms started in the early '90s with numbness in my hands & feet. Various symptoms have come & gone since that time. I've had test after test after test with nothing conclusive until recently. During the lastest event, I lost all muscle control on the left side of my face. My ACE level was measured at 75 after the event was in remission which is one of the reasons the neurologist suspected sarcoid. My eyes are also problematic with chronic diplopia since an event in 2000 and the latest symptoms of red, burning eyes which I'll get checked out shortly. I also have skin lesions, primarily on the hands, scalp & eye lids. The dermatologist who did my biopsy said the lesions were non- caseating granulomas...but not to worry... " sarcoid lesions are caseating... " . She classified the nodules as granuloma annulare and sent me on my way. From what I've read, not that I remember what I had for breakfast most days, I was under the impression that sarcoid lesions are non- caseating. Is this another case where the physician does not have the necessary experience with sarcoid or am I concerned over nothing? I've scheduled a follow up with my primary for tomorrow and want to be ready to address the findings of the dermatologist if necessary. BTW, does anyone know of a physican / specialist in Western NY who is familiar with sarc? I haven't been able to locate one...thanks!
