Guest guest
Hi , I know how awful this can be. I'm still pre-op, but I had an " Open " gall bladder removal 11 years ago. Your description fits what happened to me to a " T " . I think I had heard that the anesthesia can halt the bowels and it takes sometime for them to kick in to gear. By that time things can become, well, impacted, and hard to eliminate. I think you are on the right track with the suppositories and laxatives and enemas. Eventually, something will " give " and you will be in business! Not too pleasant to talk about, but I do know how all-consuming it can be when it is happening to you. Life simply comes to a screeching halt. And what kind of help is a ruthless PA who reduces the patients to tears? Unexcuseable. I would jot down notes of what transpired and bring it up w/Dr Gagner at your next follow-up. Hang in there, honey. You are now on the otherside and things are only going to get better!
