Guest guest
Hello, I forgot to mention that I did see the cardiologist today. She says everything's "ok".I have low normal function and a slightly dilated RV.. I know there were a few other minor abnormalities. I could hear her talking to the tech about them but couldn't understand her. She doesn't like telling me things that aren't a real problem yet. She did advise I stay on Carnitor. I'll know more when I get her letter from my visit. Her letters are always very informative and detailed. She said my symptoms were definitely from the elevated ammonia, especially the pounding feeling and breathlessness. This lady cardiologist has SEVERE rheumatoid arthritis and usually sees her patients by riding around on her stool/very humped over. She just had COMPLETE knee replacement surgery ONLY 2 weeks ago and is now using walker to glide around on. Talk about strong willed! I really admire her. She's supposed to be off work much longer but just can't stop going. I think it's because of her positive attitude, that she is doing so well. She really makes me reevaluate my own life. She sits right in the room with you while you get your echo and watches as the tech does it. Anyway, I just wanted to brag on her. I think everyone in her office feeds off of "her" energy and most of them could be her grandchildren! On another note:I still think there's something going on with my ability to excrete ammonia. Mike and I did actually have our dinner date! First time in yrs! I ate some shrimp and ribs(not a lot though-mostly salad and bread) and got that pounding feeling in my chest and a stomach ache. I also got that feverish feeling too. It's gone now, thankfull. I have never been told to reduce my protein intake, so I don't know what to do but it sure seems related tonight. I know I don't break down fats properly but I don't think fats affect ammonia ( do they??) I am clueless here. I am feeling sleepy! Gotta go and thanks for listening again. Krystena, Mt.
