Guest guest
Dr. Ren's office scheduled me with Dr. Sherman to do the endoscopy in April. He decided to put me to sleep because I started to sing. I told him I was not nervous. I was out for a few minutes and it did not hurt. The only thing is drink plenty of water afterward. My throat was very dry, however, I was hungry because my appt. was after 3 pm and I was nothing by mouth since midnight. I put a cracker in my mouth and I almost choked to death. I ran into a resturant and tried to ask for water. It was something with cracker crumbs coming all out of my mouth. The waitress thought I was insane. So, the test itself is easy. J. Guest guest
Reece, The doctor will insert a small scope into your upper digestive tract to get a visual on it. You will be asleep, or mostly asleep for the procedure. You lay on your side and they put a plastic piece in your mouth that will hold your mouth open. Then they insert the camera on a thin cable into your mouth and down your throat. Your dis/comfort with it mostly depends on your level of awareness and how touchy your gag reflex is. It's a quick procedure and is over very quickly. Good luck!!
