Guest guest
Martha, it's their loss. I for one, prefer to have a "know-it-all RN with attitude" here as opposed to someone who's always telling you what you want to hear. I know I need a good kick in the a$$ once in a while. Heck, I could use one now... I've gained 2 pounds because I've been making poor choices food-wise and now been walking like I was. I still have 75 pounds to lose and it's going to be a tough 75. I'm probably going to have a bruised butt at the end of this part of the journey. So still around here.... I'll be need to hear the way it IS, and not how I want it to be. Thanks for being a know-it-all RN!!! Ron OSSG list sucks After some differences in attitude and philosophy, I'm bailing out ofthe OSSG list. I know you're asking: Martha, What did you say/do thistime!? Hahahaha...Well, some gal wrote that her labs were outta wackand she wasn't losing weight and oh by the way, she wasn't eatingright either. She posted her labs in the email, with the normalreference ranges, and her results were all normal! She got a handfulof emails telling her to take more iron, more calcium, etc. etc...so Iwrote saying that her labs were all within normal limits and thatmaybe just MAYBE the real problem was that she wasn't eating right (asshe had mentioned). I explained the program that I was taught at KSSFmaking sure to say that this was just what worked for me, and not nec.for everyone. Someone wrote back that I hadn't included proteinshakes. So then I wrote back saying that I didn't drink them because Iwas told not to unless I was sick or couldn't get enough protein andthat sometimes people can live without them...I also said I'd observedthat people on that list had a lot of high-calorie recipes for proteinshakes that sounded like milkshake fixes to me. WELL. You can'timagine the hostile emails I got! Meanwhile the list conversation wasabout (a) cute kitties, ( how much extra food people were eatinggiggle giggle, © being alone, and (d) recipes for sugar-free pumpkinpie, fudge, and other crap. Apparently they don't need a know-it-allRN with attitude. So, to quote Pam Marsh, F--k 'em! HahahaMartha
Guest guest
I read on that list and it's quite ... unique (to put it nicely). Their loss! We all need someone to tell us like it is without beating around the bush or trying to put it " nicely " . Thank you! Guest guest
Its hard when there is so much variance in programs and god forbid you disagree with anyone else's. Its a shame. We are all here to learn from each other and if we post something that isnt popular, but is working...then we are chastized. SIGH! We are all just out to help each other. Some programs are adememtly against shakes(Kaiser Richmond where I went) is one. Some swear by them. No wonder we have very confused posties, trying anything to stay on track. Dont worry though Martha.....I love ya > > After some differences in attitude and philosophy, I'm bailing out of > the OSSG list. I know you're asking: Martha, What did you say/do this > time!? Guest guest
Thanks Gordy. After my morning weigh-in (and subsequent knowledge of weight gain) I was able to strengthen my resolve. I walked part way to work today and kept the food to a good minimum. It's good to get a wake-up call once in a while. So, until I falter again (and I'm certain I will), I have a plan to put in motion... (motion being an operative word here) <g>. As for the cigs... it'll be 3 months on the 24th. My boss has seen me quit and restart many times during my tenure with him, so he told me that he'll take me to dinner once I make my 3 month mark. Too bad I'll have to be a cheap date... hehehehe So how's your progress Gordy? Any decisions on the horizon? Guest guest
I hung out there for awhile...it was rather tedious. Too many posts about trivial stuff. There were the occasional worthy nuggets of wisdom, and I liked one of their moderators (gayle), but wading through all the chaff was not worth the wheat. Keep hanging out here Martha, I appreciate our " delicate flower " ; ) > > After some differences in attitude and philosophy, I'm bailing out of > the OSSG list.
