Guest guest
Hi Sheryle, If you are having your surgery in Delano there is no need to hire a private duty nurse. For your first 24hours after surgery, (unless going to ICU for any reason) you will be assigned a one-on-one nursing care person that is included with your hospital stay. (I had an LVN). This person will stay with you in your room continuously for the first 24 hours in addition to the regular nursing staff on duty to assist you. I think you will find the Delano nursing staff very good as most Delano post ops will tell you. Not to mention Dr. K's attentive monitoring of patients, as he known to check in on patients several times throughout the day. It's a good idea to have a support person with you for at least a week or so after the surgery to. Much of it depends on each persons recovery and/or if any complications arise. Also you are allowed to have a support person stay in your room with you during your hospital stay if you so desire. May I say you have great taste in an excellent talented surgeon that btw is a member of the ASBS! Guest guest
Dear Cassandra: Thanks for the great info re: Delano and the staff. I am ready to go but a bit scared. So it helps to know what to expect as far as accomodations and treatment go. I have researched Dr. K and he has what it takes to win my confidance. It is good to hear so many people confirm my impression. I want this opportunity sooo much. My heart is strong, I am not diabetic, I do not have high blood pressure. However, I do have sleep apnea and Fibromyalgia which just makes it even more difficult for me to get around. I do a chairdancing aerobic workout about 2-3 times a week. I don't think it is enough though. I am wondering if it will be ok to do this same routine after surgery? Well I am sure the Dr. will tell me. Thanks for listening Sheryle
