Guest guest
thanks cecilia ! i am also thrilled about my goal approaching closer and closer...........sometimes it seems like yesterday that i had my surgery and other days it seems years ago ! take lots of pictures, i have been but not as often as i should have ! Tonight i had dinner with my old boss, he had not seen me since last december, he sold the company as of oct 3rd he took us out to dinner as a thank you, he was just staring at me telling me how good i looked and i could tell he was just amazed, it felt good ! your days are coming ! one of my silliest moments is when one night my stepson and my hus band were piggy backing me around the house on there backs, and when i could wear my husbands pants and they were to big..........................when i tried on my wedding dress from 5 years ago and it literally fell off my shoulders and slithered down to my waist ! very cool ! colleensnickers_95203@... wrote: Only 24 lbs from goal!!??? Guest guest
Colleen, I am still hanging around and reading mostly. I am doing great. I am at 150 (20 pounds from goal of 130 that I set for myself). I have been debating about just trying to maintain or continue to try and lose because I am in a 8 petite and they have become loose. I really don't think I want to be smaller than a 8. Well, if it comes off great but if I stayed here I would not be heart broken. Someone told me to go ahead and loose because my weight just might fluctuate a bit as time passes on. We are only 8 months out...not even at our year mark so anything could happen. Who knows, I just might like being in a size 6...maybe 4 but we will just have to wait and see what happens. I went and had a consult with the plastic surgeon about my breast and tummy tuck. That went well. Still contiplating if I will do it now (because I could) or just wait until my year mark. Lots to decide but I will be prayerful about it as its only 4 months to our one year mark. Glad to hear you are doing something with your house. We just finished construction on a house we bought for renting in January of this year. I am glad it is over and people have started calling about renting so that is cool. I will continue to be hear, read and even chime in from time to time. I am so proud of your success Colleen. Keep on pressing your way. You are going to be there before you know it. Pam Marsh --- snickers_95203@... wrote: > Only 24 lbs from goal!!??? WOW!! I am thrilled for > you. Guest guest
Hi, Pamela congratulations I can't wait to be where you are. I just had my surgery on 10/12 and I am already excited about the 13lbs. I've lost. I wonder if I could ask you what you weighed at surgery and how long it took you to get down to 150? 150-170 is the goal that I have set for myself and I'm wondering how long it would be. Can you give me any tips, suggestions etc. ....did you exercise daily? Guest guest
Marita, Hi I know you wrote this to Pamela, but I thought I would let you know my information also, everyone is so different. Time frames will also be different. I started at 270 at orientation Nov. 2004, had surgery at 228 April 2005 and hit goal 150 Sept. 2205, I'm at a stand still at 143 right now and I exercise every day. When I first started I only exercised 3 days a week, by surgery time it was 5 days, now it's always 6 if possible 7 days, I really want to be 135. I started size 24, now in 8 petite that's loose but can't fit a 6 yet. I believe at 135 it will be a six not a 4, we're all built different. Now if Pamela answers, you can compare. Time lines are different along with people what they do. Keep up the good work. DonnaMarita Spes wrote: Hi, Pamela congratulations I can't wait to be where you are. Guest guest
Hey Donna and Marita, I hope all is well. As for my stats....here you go. Orientation: 250lbs Nov 04 2005 Surgery: 221lbs Feb 08 2005 Current Weight: 250lbs 10/21/2005 Total Loss: 100 lbs Presurgery Loss: 27lbs I started out working out every single day but has time passed on, I stopped. Just could not find the time. I get up at 3:45 am to get ready for work and I don't get home until after 6:30 pm. I have to do homework, cook, prepare clothes for the next day and try to spend some time with my two boys. By the time I am done with stuff, it is 9:00 pm. I catch the news and shower and get in the bed by 10:30-11:00 sometimes it is 11:30. I know that if I was exercising, I would drop these 20 pounds off just like that. I figured that I would try for at least 3 days out of the week. I did not get a goal weight from my surgeon but I chose the weight of 130 for myself. Its 20 more pounds and I know that by my one year anniversary in Feb 2006. I wear a size 8 petite (I amd 5' 2 " ) and my husband really does not want me to loose anymore weight. I am pleased with the size but still reaching for that magic number. All I can tell you is to continue drinking your water and do exercise (even though I fell off the wagon but not for bad reasons but I know if I tighten things up more, I could work in at least 30 minutes-plan on walking on my lunch hour) and follow the plan. So far, I am so happy with my process and the beautiful people that I have found on this site. Some have moved on and others are still here. I might not post like I used to but I read and every now and then I will post. Be good to yourself and everything will fall into place. My committement to start back exercising starts tomorrow morning (Saturday, October 22,205). I believe that in order for me to advise and assist someone else, I have to be true to myself. Thanks for giving me the motivation to get off my butt. Take care and I wish you well. Guest guest
Pam Marsh, It's hard not having time, I do understand. I run a in home daycare opens at 6am and closes at 6:30 pm. I take care of 6 children a 1 year old, two 2 year olds, two 4 year olds and a 5 year old. I have two young adult men 20 and 22 years still living at home, they go to college and work part time, they each have girlfriends that are here Thurs-Sunday (they are also in college) I'm the home away from college, and my oldest son was just recently in a motorcycle accident and has a broken clavicle (shoulder bone), so I take him to and from college, he's not working at this time, and a husband who hasn't been doing to well, lots of depression. So lots of doctor appointments, but I force myself to find time every day, it may not be the same time each day, but I look at what's going on and fit it in. How about not watching the news and that could be you exercise time? Just a thought! I'm 5'4" 1/2 , and yes my husband doesn't think I need to lose anymore either. I really want 135, so I'm going to give it my best. Good luck to you and keep up the good work. DonnaPamela A Marsh wrote: I made a mistake. My current weight is not 250 but150. Guest guest
Good morning Donna, Its about 7:25 and I am about to go spend some time on my treadmil (yes!!! that's right) and I wanted to log on and say THANK YOU so very much because I was truly inspired and I still am. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 3 pounds. I am officially 147 today (103 total loss)and have 17 more to go to reach my goal. I have decided that I will either get at a minimum of 30 of walking or running either on my lunch or instead of watching the news like you said. Thanks again for everything. Pam Marsh, very inspired! --- Donna Jordon dsjordon@...> wrote: > Pam Marsh, > It's hard not having time, I do understand.
