Dietician Appt. Questions

Can Someone give me an idea of what to expect at the Dietician Appointment? The lady in my pcp's office didn't have any pamphlets to give me about the process. I remember someone on here saying that they need a detailed list of your weight loss attempts in the past, so I've been trying to remember all of them. I'm not sure how far I need to go back (I started WW when I was 12). Also, what kinds of questions do they ask you? I want to nail this appointment, and hopefully not have to do any "Lifestyle" classes. If they could only see into my head and see how determined I am to get this done! Thanks in advance!

Hi ,

At my appt. they asked me to write down everything I had eaten for the past 2 or

3 days, but I was sick so there wasnt much for me to write down, so she just

asked me to tell her in general what I eat in a typical day. She asked about the

different kinds of diets I had tried and talked a little bit about why she

thought things weren't working.

She then said she would do the paperwork and on I went to my psych appt. It was

harmless.

Best of luck!

Hi Laurie. I'm going to the Union City office. This is my 1st appointment since I told my pcp (Dr. Elmer Chang) that I wanted the surgery, and he agreed it was a good idea. So I haven't been approved yet.

Thanks for the response, Barbara! Your appointment didn't sound too bad. What location did you have it at? I'm going to Union City.

, then I think all bets are off. Seems every

dietitian person is different. They will probably ask

you what you eat in a typical day and what weight loss

efforts you have made in the past. Beyond that, who

knows. Personally, I had a terrible experience with

the dietician at Kaiser Pleasanton. She told me she

could not recommend me for the surgery because I would

fail and gain all my weight back because I wasn't

eating right at the time I saw her. Good luck! I

hope you get a good one!

Hi ,

My appt. was in ez and I am going through Kaiser Richmond for surgery. My BMI was 50.2 and my PCP called me less than a week after my Psych appt. to tell me I was approved!

Good luck!
