Guest guest
Is this legal? I did a wiki search and didn't get much info. It's for sore and stiff muscles, bruising, natural alternative to aspirin or something. I tried one then thought I'd ask. Have gel also, I know it doesn't matter here but does anyone have experience with it? Debbie 40 cs
Guest guest
I don’t know about the capsules. I do use arnica gel for my occasional achy joints. It works well. Guest guest
> > Is this legal? I did a wiki search and didn't get much info. Homeopathic remedies most commonly come in the form of lactose pills or pellets to be taken orally. The forms that are to be used externally; gels, creams etc shouldn't be a problem, of course. A high potency remedy prescribed by a homeopath might have to be taken only once, so I assume it might be considered one of those cases where the benefit from the medicine outweighs the negative effect of the small amount of lactose. Some of the higher potencies may also come in a different, liquid form that is mixed with water. A 10x potency, hoewever, is a low potency and would typically be repeated, so it might not be a good idea for SCDers. For myself, I've toyed with the idea of briefly putting the pellets in water, as the remedy (during the manufacturing process) is added on top of the pills, and drinking the water. That might be a way of getting the benefit without ingesting the lactose. HTH, Lilian

The only homeopath with whom I have personal contact says that the tiny amount of lactose in a few pellets should not be a problem. (Hah!) When I told her the lactose COULD be an issue for SCDers, she suggested taking 2-3 pellets and dissolving it in a quarter cup of spring water, then taking a tablespoon of the mixture. I do not pretend to understand homeopathy, but according to the homeopath, diluting the remedy can actually make it stronger. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
I don't know a thing about any of this but someone with Crohn's from MS uses it. I took one tablet last night (said two and it's not the 10x pellets, shaped like a pill) and my back stopped hurting, I went back to sleep. I think I'd rather take my chances with this once I get switched over from taking other pain relievers (generic aspirin) and only take it when needed. I'll have to reread your message on diluting it--is that to get rid of the lactose or to make it stronger? If you can take it post-op, it must be good ;-). Now to find legal spearmint or peppermint tea (I know DW) because I also got peppermint oil caps that are 'heavy'. Not sure if it helped or not...just still tasting peppermint! debbie 40 cd On Sun, Dec 27, 2009 at 8:39 AM, Wizop Marilyn L. Both -- diluting it cuts down on the amount of lactose you get, and somehow, makes it work better. And yes, it was really helpful after the surgery -- in fact, my doc was amazed at how little morphine I needed. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
If you put it in water, it will make it more potent. If you crush it, put it in water and hit the bottle 10x that will make it much more potent as it " activates " it. I use homeopathic remedies occasionally - for cramps, headaches, back pain and shingles. Just remember when taking it that it's not like taking tylenol for a headache. You need to look up your symptoms in the materia medica (there's a version online I think) and find out which remedy will work best for you. One person's remedy won't necessarily help other people. There's a doc in the UK who claims to have cured 2 people of UC using homeopathic remedies but each person used different ones. So to choose which one is right for you, you look up which remedies are recommended for a headache and then look at each of those and see what other symptoms you might have (ex. get dizzy when standing up, loss of appetite, tingling in legs when lying down...etcetcetc). If you go to a homeopathic doctor and your first appointment doesn't cover everything that your body goes through (at LEAST an hour long meeting) then choose another doc. Guest guest
Does anyone know how to take your e-mail address off of this group. I am getting way too many e-mails to keep up with. It is causing me more stress. Thanks if anyone knows. Guest guest
I forgot to ask about this, but what is Arnica 30x? It is a cream, capsule, or what? What does the '30x' mean? My sister-n-law suffers from knee pain from an old injury then surgery and thought this might help her. Amelia Husband UC 9 years, SCD 18 months LDN 3 mg > > Is this legal? Guest guest
Arnica 30x is a homeophatic remedy for soothe muscle aches, reduce inflammation, heal wounds (and a lots more) and the 30x means the power of the pills. There are from 10x to 30x, from my knoledge. You will find it easily on Boots or on Holland & Barrett (this is for UK) Hope this will help. Guest guest
But keep in mind that homeopathic remedies aren't supposed to act like Tylenol. A remedy that works for one person won't necessarily work for another. Check out the materia medica for all the symptoms (UC/CD, achey joints, cold hands, dizziness when standing etc etc etc) to find out which remedy will work best for your sister-in-law. Or see a homeopathic doc since it can be a little confusing. stacey > > > > > > Is this legal? Guest guest
They are small-medium white tablets. I am in Houston and found them at the Vitamin Shoppe. I usually take one to two and it works great. Debbie 40 cd But keep in mind that homeopathic remedies aren't supposed to act like Tylenol.
