Guest guest
Darla, It is great to read that Asenath has lots of energy now. What has given her so much energy? Is it the steroids? -Kay has never taken steroids. -Kay's breathing issues are only at the start of, during, or immediately following a vomiting episode. She would also have changes in heart-rate during the episode. The heart-rate changes can also be due to dysautonomia. You mention lungs. After each vomiting episode -Kay's lungs especially the right lung would also cause a problem. It would always take some time for them to function properly again. Even now that we can stop the vomiting after only 1 or 2 vomits, (she used to vomit an average of 47 vomits per episode) it still affects her lungs but not nearly to the degree that it once did. However her lung function was 'not to bad' after she became well again once the episode was over. Maybe Dr Boles could tell us the reason why the lungs are involved. The hospital used to call it pneumonia, but it never really felt like pneumonia to me. It is such a worrying condition. Hugs, .
