Guest guest
I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions for a simple fix for this pain Stu, I have found that good old MSM powder, 1 tbsp in 1/4 cup of water works better for the joint, muscle, ligament- sarcoid induced arthritis pain than anything else! I get mine from PUREMSM.COM. This is a natural mineral that has been engineered out of our food and soils. (They didn't think it was needed.) The site explains it--and those I've gotten to try it are also singing it's praises. It's natural, doesn't interfer with any other meds, and I've not heard anyone having any allergic reactions. The other HUGE part of my pain was dehydration. since we tend to run a low-grade fever full-time, we are chronically dehydrated. For us, the least little bit means that those sarc granulomas or the vasculitis pain is grinding on nerves. It sure doesn't meet the "martha stewart -it's a good thing" thing. The other component for me was my blood sugar issues. After years of steroids-- I ended up with diabetes-- and the neuropathy--on top of the neurosarcoidosis neuropathy. So by bringing my blood sugars back into line-- that has helped with the nerve pain. As for Dr. Sharma-- he is wonderful. He is the pulmonologist that was overseeing the Remicade Clinical Trial for pulmonary and ocular sarcoidosis 2 yrs ago when I got into it. Brilliant man. They have great neuro-ophthalmologists, and I'm sure he can refer you to a good neurologist. He is also on the board of FSR. Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research. That is one site that I highly recommend. Take care, and we're glad you found us-- we all wish that none of us were here-- but since we have this confounded illness-- at least we in good company.
