Guest guest
, Where are you having surgery? I did not have to take any of those prescriptions before my surgery in Fremont on 10/3. Most of the antibiotics they gave me in prep of my surgery on the same day of surgery. The Fleet well it is a liquid and as I type this I am gagging. Sorry, but it is sickening it taste like hot salt water big time. It does the trick though. Good luck with it... Of course I have to wait and talk to the scheduler. I was told there are two other people in front of me waiting on a date. When I asked when they thought I might get in it was a little discouraging. They said November's schedule was full. December was iffy because they don't do surgery right around Christmas so it will probably be in January. I guess that's not too bad but I'm so ready to get this done and start a new life. Well when I did see the doctor he gave me so many perscription I was surprised. These were all so much of a surprise can any one tell me if they've been put on any of these and how they did with them. Lovenox- this is a shot you give your self in the stomach. It's a blood thinner that you have to take the day before surgery then continue after for a while. Metronidazole- Fours days before surgery kills and prevents bacteria infections Neomycin- Four days before sugery to prevent bacterial infection Nystatin- antifungal Antibiotic Hibiclens- It's a topical antiseptic skin cleaner you wash with for 3 to 4 days before surgery Then one more thing in the Fleet Prep kit. Has anyone ever had to do this? I haven't picked it up yet but just wondering if this is a liquid you take by mouth, pills you take or something you have to insert in your rectum??? If anyone can shed any light on there surgery and happenings I'd appreciate it. If you want to email me personally you can at da6bearz@... Guest guest
, I've never know any one in California to have to do all this. We do the Fleet kit, but any thing else needed is given the day of surgery and that can differ for each person depending on health issues. I had to have a ashtma treatment before surgery, along with a numer treatment because my throat was small and the tube put in could of caused pain due to scrapping my throat, I also had a big dose of antibiotics due to I've had many other surgeries and infection had followed, so the antibiotics where to prevent that. I believe every one is different, but I don't believe here in California any one has had to do all you are to prepare for this surgery. I guess it's different in every state. Guest guest
---Hey Luci, I am having my surgery at Richmond on November 7th. I can totally identify with your feelings. I am about 9 pounds under goal, and feel very ready. I just want to get on the other side. Now that I have a date the waiting is tough. Good luck to you and all the new pre-ops. It actually all comes along sooner than you think. I have great confidence in the program at Richmond Kaiser. Pam E.
