Love to you, Tracie NS Co-owner/moderator Hi Everyone, I have not been feeling well enough to write a newsletter, but my mother decided to help out by writing this years " one word " newsletter for me. For last years " word " please read this link: http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/2006/01/happy_new_year_1_word.php __________________________________________________________ HOPE My daughter has unfortunately not been feeling well, so I have decided to write her overdue New Years letter. I know that every year she picks a word to focus on and this year I have chosen the very appropriate word- HOPE. Every day of our lives, whether we realize it or not, we wake up and unconsciously HOPE for a good day. Our unspoken wishes range from the mundane to the sublime. We HOPE that we will feel good and our aches and pains will be tolerable, we HOPE that we won't hit traffic on the way to work and we HOPE that the weather will not be torrential rain or snow. We HOPE for these things without even thinking about them. Without HOPE we would have pretty dismal existences. Some people, even my daughter has labeled me an optimistic Pollyanna, brimming with too much HOPE, but I would much rather be Hopeful than negative. I know there is a happy medium and sometimes I might be Hopeful, even in the face of recurring trying times, but I choose HOPE. I choose to believe that will not necessarily be " cured " of her Lupus, but will lead a long, productive and happy life. I choose HOPE and I am Hopeful that this bad period that she is experiencing will soon be over. I am Hopeful that my husband and I will grow old together, I am Hopeful that I will be around to watch my grandchildren grow up and I am Hopeful that my husband and I will have enough money to enjoy our retirement. HOPE is what gets me up every morning and gets me through my day, my week and my life. So in 2007, I wish all of you a year of HOPE. All of your dreams may not come true, but once you stop dreaming there is nothing left to HOPE for. Sometimes we're just so overwhelmed with getting through the day, that committing to more demands on our time and psyches seems unfathomable. And to some, forcing ourselves to adhere to a list of rules and regulations smacks of unrealistic expectations. But it doesn't have to be that way. http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/2005/12/how_to_make_achievable_new_y ea.php - Surviving Dry Itchy Winter Skin We all know the feeling - we kick on the furnace for the winter and within days our skin starts screaming... loudly... for attention! It " screams " by getting dry and itchy, developing rough flaky patches, and just generally acting cranky!
