Question: Does anyone out there know if agave nectar is SCD legal?

Elaine writes:I happen to have an answer for your for an esoteric food - the agave - nectar but I would rather that people do not go into these unusual questions - we have enough on our minds and enough unanswered questions to fool with without bothering with something like this. NO NO agave contains hecogenin (called a cardiac glycoside) which probably has the action of digitalis. I know this only because I have a rare book called THE ORGANIC CONSTITUENTS OF HIGHER PLANTS. Although I know many people who have had wonderful experiences with various herbs, there are so many chemical components to every living plant that we sometimes can get into trouble. ©2000 The Healing Crow, Inc.

There is an amazing coconut macaroon recipe on Elana's Pantry that youshould try. Just sub honey for agave. And yes, use shredded coconut.I get it in a green package from Whole foods. Sorry, I don't recall thebrand right now. They turned out perfect and my kids and I devoured them.HTH,->> > I got my egg whites nice and fluffy finally! (was using plastic mixing bowl that was the problem) but, i'm using coconut flour from digestivewellness.com and when I add that it it immediatly kills the fluffy egg whites and turns them back into liquid. Maybe i need to use coconut flakes? Or shredded coconut? I think the flour might be too dry and is soaking up all the moisture. What

does everyone else use? Brand, place you get it from would be great.
