Hi Debbie. I find ground ginger very helpful for treating nausea. I buy empty gelatin capsules at a health food store, and fill them with organic ginger powder from my spice supply, then wash one or two capsules down with water.

Hope this helps.

Subject: Natural/Homeopath Supplement for Nausea

Does anyone know of one besides peppermint oil pills?

Thanks,

I haven't found any natural treatment for nausea, one of my chronic symptoms. In fact, mint makes my nausea a whole lot worse. Just a warning. Some people find mint helps them, but in my case it does not. I did find out the reason, it has to do with relaxing the smooth muscles and sphincters, which is the last thing I need since I have Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction (muscles just below the stomach).

I keep a nausea medication on hand for my really severe nausea days. Phenergan is the one that works best for me. Good thing is that the longer I've been on SCD the less I need it, but my body has a regular 10 to 14 day cycle when I'll get a symptom flare, which includes nausea, no matter that I am eating the same foods and haven't done anything differently. Of course I get nausea every time I eat, but by limiting my SCD foods I can keep the nausea minimal so I lead a fairly normal life and can continue to work full-time.

Anyway, just my experience.
