Guest guest
What medications are you on? Sometimes they can cause unusual side-effects. I have frequent episodes of itchiness on my fingers, along with a rash. I do get contact dermatitis easily, so have to be careful with what foods and soaps I handle. But my hands also react with eczema and other skin problems (itchiness is one of the symptoms, along with dryness and cracking) with certain foods. Too much fruit, or vitamin C, is one of my triggers. Before I started SCD grains were another trigger, as was too much lactose. So, in my experience, foods can often trigger symptoms on my hands. I do have feet symptoms (nerve pain, numbness, cramps) but they don't include itchiness, except on rare occasions. I have a vague memory of itchy feet as one of the side-effects when I was giving Lexapro a trial, but I'm not positive, might have been something else. I'd look at your medications and also consider your foods. Kim M. SCD 5+ years >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > > Does anyone else have this symptom? I know it seems minor, but it's getting annoying and I cannot find info. about it on the internet. When I was younger, my feet used to itch from athlete's foot, but there's no visible signs of it now. Plus, parts of my fingers itch now. I didn't know if this could be related to bowel problems or what. > > Thanks! >
Guest guest
I had exactly the same issue and it drove me *craaazy*. Unfortunately I was never able to pinpoint what it was. It happened mainly at night. I know I started using more moisturizer and practically slathered my feet with benedryl cream each night. I thought that it might have been a detox symptom and think that I might be right since it did eventually go away on its own. I wish I could be more help. I hope it goes away soon! Guest guest
Thanks for replies Kim and Stacey. Kim, I'm not on any meds, so if it's not detox, I guess it could be diet. I'm going to have to watch it more closely and see if I can associate it with anything. Guest guest
Hi Laurie and Kim, I have the itchy feet and hands also. Mine started around 2 months ago after stopping liquid carafate (had illegal sorbitol) that i was taking for stomach erosion prescribed by my GI Dr. I have a red bump/hive rash also that comes and goes and started after stopping the carafate - the rash was listed as a side effect. I get the itchy feet and hands and rash after my 20 minute epsom salt soak also. I get these after just a baking soda soak too so I'm assuming and hoping it's die-off.
