Guest guest
Hello I have introduced my self about two weeks ago I was just waiting for approval for the surgery. I am very happy I have been approved. Now I just need to wait for my orientation date. Can any one tell me how long is it to get orientation date? I live in Antioch my doctor told me I am being referred to Richmond. I have been reading all the postings and I am glad I to be a part of a wonderful support group. My doctor told me to also attend the support groups I will be going to the one in Antioch on November 8th I am very exited to attend them. I am really tired of being unhealthy I am 35 years old and I weight 288lbs and I also have diabetes. I have a 13 year old son that I love more than anything and wish to live to see him graduate high school. This is the start of my new life. I have always had weight problems but never like this. Thank you everyone for being there.. Karla

Guest guest
Just try to be patient. Kaiser Richmond uses your orientation weight as your starting point and you will then have to lose 10% after that. I have no other health issues other than my weight, so I just did things the way I usually did. Didn't eat any different. My theory was that the first 5-10 lbs are the easiest to lose so I didn't want to lose then when they wouldn't count. I actually weighed in at orientation 12.5 lbs. higher than when I was excepted (it was that time of the month though...) As of now I have 5.8 lbs left to lose for my 10%. I am hoping to have it gone by the time I have my next class on November 2nd. Guest guest
Dr. Fisher is my Dr. and he was very nice when I met him a month or so ago. I am excited and frustrated at the same time. I just seems like these last few lbs. are hanging on and I want to kick them off of me with all my might - lol. Guest guest
Hi Karla Congrats on your approval. I also went through Richmond. Can I ask who your primary care physican was that referred you?? I get all my care through Antioch, on Delta Fair and at first my pcp was very against anyone having the surgery. He has since changed his mind seeing my sucess with it. I stuck with him in the hopes that the next person wanting it would get his approval easier. > > Hello I have introduced my self about two weeks ago I was just > waiting for approval for the surgery.
