Sorbitol in Avocado

It has 0.66 sugar but nothing on having sorbitol.  They have a lot more potassium than bananas--didn't know that.  I went to the sorbitol page, it mentions stone fruit and that link is at the bottom.  No mention of avocado having sorbitol though.

You may want to google for more information on both since I'm not sure wikipedia.com is totally reliable.

Thank you Debbie...

I did Wiki and Google my head off before I brought my query here. I know

avocados contain sorbitol, or so I believe, I just do not know how much.

I can't imagine that avocados contain any sorbitol at all. Sorbitol

doesn't naturally occur in fruit, does it, unless that fruit is highly

over-ripe and starting to spoil or ferment? It's a sugar-alcohol that is

made from fermented fruits (or corn or seaweed, e.g.), and that the body

metabolizes very slowly.

I read stone fruits and even minute amounts in coconut.

I may google on it later; interesting because I thought it was one of those artificial sweeteners.  No idea it would be in natural food.

ly, I would think there's a huge difference between an avocado

containing some sorbitol and the sorbitol that is extracted from

whatever, and used as a sweetener. Seems like we already know about a lot

of things that are OK in the natural state but not if extracted,

concentrated or built in the lab.
