Guest guest
Yes, yes, yes. That is typical IBS for me. I have suffered from it since the age of seven or eight. It has sometimes been only in the morning, on severe flare ups, all day long. Surgery really sent it off the deep end, I think because I had my gallbladder out as well. But yes! I learned to manage the breakfast dilemma decades ago. What works for me is to wait about two hours after getting up in the am before I eat. Please give it a try. I strongly suspect you have developed IBS. Let me know. Guest guest
Thank you Laurie! I wondered if I might have IBS. I was never formally diagnosed with it but I had a period of several years where anything I ate (for breakfast in particular) went right through me. I had to have breakfast and then stay at home for a couple of hours. It was horrible. I'll discuss this with my PCP and Dr. Baggs when I see then both on the 11th. Tina > > Yes, yes, yes. Guest guest
Tina, I wrote 2 hrs for a wait period before eating in the am. But you might want to start there and then back it up in half hour incriments. If two hrs go ok, try one and a half. If that works, try an hour. There are times I'm ok with a 30 minute wait, but during a flare up I go longer. Do you start getting crampy within about fifteen minutes of your meal? If so, we are definitely in the same boat. Guest guest
Yep, definitely within 15 minutes. Sometimes as soon as I take a bite and chew it up and swallow it I can tell it's not going to be good. It sucks! Tina > > Tina, I wrote 2 hrs for a wait period before eating in > the am.
