got an allergic reaction looking rash - he's ok with goat cheddar- can a

reaction take that long??? do I wait for it to be totally gone before attempting

Eileen,

It could very well be an allergic reaction. And I would wait until the rash is

completely gone before trying it again. When you want to test it again, rub a

bit on the back of his hand and see if anything happens. If it doesn't cause a

red rash, then rub a bit next to his mouth and see what happens. If nothing,

then rub a bit on his lips. If nothing still happens, try having him eat

another 1/8 tsp and see if the same thing happens again. It could be that his

body is reacting strongly to the probiotic in the yogurt. DH couldn't tolerate

the yogurt whether it was cow, goat, or coconut milk.

Hi Eileen-

I wanted to share my experience in case it gives you any comfort... I posted

about a week ago that I was having a " mystery rash. " It started right around 11

weeks and I have concluded that it must be part of my 3-month flare. I still

have it (I having been flaring for almost 4 weeks), but it has gotten more

subtle... it's just hanging around, but not itchy and not too noticeable. I

didn't change a thing about what I was eating or how I was preparing my food.

Since your DS is having these symptoms at 3 months I was thinking that it could

*possibly* just be part of the 3 month flare.

I hope she is feeling better and you figure it out!

About twenty years ago I spent a great deal of time in the allergy

lab testing foods etc (didn't do me much good as I was allergic to

everything). Anyhow, the doctor said it can take up to five days for

a reaction to show up! Makes it real hard to figure out sometimes.
