Guest guest
Hi I had my Surgery 10/3/05. My concern is I have not lost any weight since last Friday and I have gained 2 pounds!!!! My work outs are the same and I don't eat much. Basically stick to what I am supposed to eat. Has anyone had this problem? Ideas? I have lost 18 pounds since the 3rd. Thanks, Deb
Guest guest
Deb, Oh my gosh the same thing happened to me. When I went to my post op appt on the 21st I had lost 20 lbs. I had gained 2 actually because I had gotten to 22 lbs lost. Well finally today I stepped on the scale and hit a number I hadnt seen. It was only 1 lb. but hey at least it is moving again. At my appt. I was 257 and today I am 253.5 so finally it is moving. Has anyone else had this happen. I felt like to myself gosh Kristie that is all the weight you are going to lose. I am going to measure myself on the 3rd so we wil see what it is going to say. At least you can know this is happening to me too... maybe it is our bodies in shock. Guest guest
Perspective Deb. 18 lbs. since October 3 is significant. Your body is adjusting, and you may be pre-menstrual. The only time I have gained at all is right before my period. And where I used to gain 5 lbs. or more at my period...post surgery it was only a lb. or two, which immediately went away. Try to up your water...that's the hardest thing in the beginning...but your body will hold on to water weight if you aren't properly hydrated. Your body will lose at its own pace. Pam Marsh routinely wouldn't lose a lb. for 3 weeks...and then she'd have a big drop right after every menstrual cycle. I have lost consistently, but some weeks it is 4 lbs, and some it is 1 lb. I haven't ever had a huge loss...just consistent ones. We are all different. You will settle into a pattern. Write down your current weight once a week...that way, after some time, you will see your pattern. And then you will be less panicked about it. Make sure you get in as much of the water as you can. Take your vitamins. Eat your protein. And get in some kind of exercise, walking or whatever, everyday. The weight will come off. Don't fret. Your body has lost 18 lbs. in about 18 days. Think about it that way. That's something!!! Robynndebosobright wrote: HiI had my Surgery 10/3/05. My concern is I have not lost any weight since last Friday and I have gained 2 pounds!!!! Guest guest
Thanks Robynn - I needed to look at the way you explained it to me ... 18 pounds is a lot of weight to loose. I do need to up my water. I probably get in 40 oz and not the 64 oz or more I should do. > Hi > I had my Surgery 10/3/05. Guest guest
I just now this last week got over the hump. I had been at a stand still for 3 weeks and now the scale is finally moving again. As I was told you are still loosing inches. Weird feeling huh? Guest guest
Yes my good people unfortunately, its like that for some but the weight does continue to come off. I don't get concerned about it because I know that something will come off sooner rather than later. Hang in there, you are going to be alright. Robynn, I came by to see you yesteday in your office but you had a client with you. I will try today if you are in the office.
